Okay so: I've been wanting to release something like this for a while, but most of the models from my past breeds are laid out a bit messily and I knew they might be confusing to other people. Not this time!

I've uploaded my Generic Ettin Head for anyone else who is interested in making 3D sprites for new breeds. Just pop it into Blender and you can be making your own Ettin breeds without having to model the whole thing from scratch. ![[ntongue] [ntongue]](/images/smilies/emot_tongue.gif)
I'm hoping resources like this might help inspire people to make more Ettin breeds, something the Creatures Community has way too few of. And maybe some time down the road I'll do something similar with my Norn and Grendel models; I'd like to see if I any feedback I get from this guy first, if there are things that could be improved, etc.

I think you've really got the knack! They look so alike their original counterparts, yet at the same time they have their own new style. I honestly can't see anything that needs to be improved, but then again, I don't make 3D models. I wouldn't even know where to start.
I can't wait to see future Ettin breeds using this model! |

I've just downloaded Blender - been meaning to have a look at it for ages, so this might encourage me. |

Its very nice of you to share your'e 3D model,Ghosthande,
It look very neat!
The Ettin model you made look more of a blend of a C2 and C3 Ettin mix,
with a flair of youre own style, of course!
Would love to see more, specialy a Grendel one!
I truly wish I could get my hands on Clabs old C2 and C1 3D models
seen on various promo pics. Specialy the C1 banana norn models (meh I still call them long eared..ah anyhow). those two seen in the funeral and kissing pics was allways my fav since I was a kid.
I loved those cute 3D models *.*
3D models based on Creatures you can download and play around with or use as a base
is a thing I hoped to see more of, the only ones I know/remember of is I think there was a Norn model, not entirely sure of whom, so I don't mention any username as I may be wrong, it was years ago. And the only other one I do know of is the old BBN 3D model.
3D is something Im interessted in, but haven't got the hang of and still hoping to
learn more about. I have a few 3D programs im testing out and I had a look on blender, compared to the others, I still have to try get used to it, one can be easily lost, as it have so much to offer with all options and tools.I am aware that blender is a free 3D modeling program that offer a lot of advanced tools/options that most free 3D model programs dosn't but of course that is to be expected.
One thing im most interessted in is rigging and adding face morph/facial expression to a 3D model, just a matter of time to find a good tutorial for that.
End of personal 3D experience rant (sorry about that) - all in all, im still a newbie.
If I ever do feel more used to blender, I might try this out
(as I guess it works only in Blender?),
And if I do and end up using it - I,of course, will credit you for the 3D model base!
For now, I stick to my traditional ways of making my sprites,
But I will have a look at it whenever I get acess to a Pc with blender again.
All in all - great to see some cool breed base resource to people wanting to do breeds but is more experienced in 3D :3
Look forward to see more stuff from you!
(Phew yet another typical Norngirl-ish lenghty reply, great T_T
And this only on a android phone too! I fear the worst if I typed on a Pc again XD As allways, don't mind my weird typos - result of *usualy* fast typing when on pc, on android phone its because of its crowded keyboard) |

Would you ever consider releasing the model in .obj format, Ghosthande? |
