Recently I've been working on several very similar agents, & with a lot of help from others, finally got them compiled into agents. Now there is a small problem again. Individually the agents work properly & individually the agents show up in the Garden box like they are suppose to, but when I have them all in the game at the same time, only the first one in alphabetical order shows in the Garden Box. If I remove that agent, then the next one in alphabetical order will show, but rest are still hidden until they are the first one in alphabetically.
Any ideas for what's causing that & how to fix it? |

Have you made sure to change all the species numbers? I had a similar problem recently with some patch plants I was working on recently.

Yup, they all have different species numbers. I can have patches of all of them in the world at the same time with no problems or conflicts with the patches. It's only when trying to get them to show up in the Garden Box at the same time that they have a problem.
Edit: Figured it out. The Docking Station engine only seems to read a certain length of the agent's name. If several agent names start the same but end differently, if the names are too long, it will only read the parts that are the same. I changed the name of the agent slightly & it now shows up fine. |

Oh, that makes some sense. Also watch out for "-" tack marks. I remember having that issue with variations of a breed I was working on.

How long were the previous names of the agent?

20 characters long was the shortest one, 23 characters was the length of the one next shortest one that showed up. All of the others were longer than that.... I hadn't realized that the names were that long. ![[noddeye] [noddeye]](/images/smilies/emot_oddeye.gif) |
