While googling, I found this page on Github, which looks like it could be the updated source code for the GIMP Plugin which lets you work with C16s.
How would I go about installing this and checking it out?

There is a file called "INSTALL". My first guess would be looking into that.

I am looking at it, and may build Linux and Windows formats of the plugin, and make them available. It is licensed under the GNU GPL version 2, so it won't be an issue as long as I link back. |

That would be very helpful, thank you! ![[nblush] [nblush]](/images/smilies/emot_blush.gif)
As an aside, this was compatible with GIMP 2.2 and 2.4 - I wonder if it will still be compatible with GIMP 2.8?

It is not compatible with 2.8, so I am (attempting) to update the source. Turns out I also need to update the libc16 sources too, if I am reading these build errors right.
So, my question really would be then, how useful would this plugin be? I don't touch graphics if I can help it, and have never sprited for Creatures. |

As far as I can tell (not a fantastic spriter myself) it would let you load sprite files (S16, C16 and BLK) directly into GIMP and save images as a sprite file, cutting out some of the middle man work of SpriteBuilder or Edos.
Thanks for investigating the source code, and confirming that it's not compatible with GIMP 2.8.

So it reduces middleman work... I like that.
I think it's only incompatible at build, though. I won't know 100% until I can get it built and loaded into GIMP.
