| Problem with anim fail? (C3/DS) | |

So for a while I've been kind of messing with .COS files on my system... started when I needed a movable incubator and was too lazy to track one down, plus feeling creative so I just made one using code from the Norn Terrarium incubator but using the sprite of the C12DS cart. That didn't quite work how I'd hoped but it did hatch the eggs just like the Heat Pan incubator, so this isn't the problem Im asking about.
Just now I got it in my head to try and duplicate/modify the "ant.cos" so it would use sprites from the C2 anthills, just make some and drop them in my C2 to DS world - problem is, I can't quite figure out how to specify which sprites go for each setting (worker ants, queen ant, the anthill) so first I ended up with nests that looked like stationary worker ant, then stationary queen ant. Then changed it again and now it says "Anim failed to change" in the CAOS command line rather than injecting anything. So I gave up for a bit, started fiddling around and eventually went over to C3 creator machine, and I saw this... (the worker ant is probably a glitched queen as it is slowly bouncing up and down from one side of the bridge area to the other, lol...)

My question is, in 'new: simp 2 17 6 "ant" 9 68 50' what numbers do you put to confine the worker/queen/nest to a specific subset of images? Thank you for reading this, I know it's pretty long but I thought the weird anthill and flying ant were kinda funny too~ |

Here is the documentation for that command:
NEW: SIMP (command) FAMILY (integer) GENUS (integer) SPECIES (integer) SPRITE_FILE (string) IMAGE_COUNT (integer) FIRST_IMAGE (integer) PLANE (integer)
Create a new simple agent, using the specified sprite file. The agent will have image_count sprites available, starting at first_image in the file. The plane is the screen depth to show the agent at - the higher the number, the nearer the camera.
In your case, where the '9' is at would be the sprite image to start at (starting your counting from 0)... and the '68' would be the number of images usable by the agent... So like, if you just wanted images 9,10,11,and 12, you would put ' 9 4 ' after the image name and before the '50'.

Thank you I had the image count and first image backwards somehow~ I'd looked it up online (forgot it's available in c3) and found a site that wasn't as clear as your explanation |
