Draggy

I have taken a Creative Writing class this year and have wrote an abundance of poems and stories during class time. I'd like to share one of my poems, however it does mention 'God' in whatever context you consider. If offended, or past the rules of the forum, this can be deleted.

Monarchy
Crawling from the eggshell
First, dewy-eyed to the world
Then to turn malicious with age.
A king is a dragon
Isolated away in his own piles of riches
Adorned with his gold encased crown
A luxury given with his title.
It is on the throne he sits
A deep intake of breath
Then a fury fire of heated words
Calling chaos
It is then he sends the knights
Who have pledged him loyalty
For who else should you be faithful to
Other than the one God chose himself?
For it was obviously God who chose him.
It was He who descended down from above
Looking upon the dreary land of mortals
Then to lift a great hand
And declare the divine right |

Interesting stuff - I like the feeling of dissonance.

I'd never thought of kings as dragons before, but it makes sense. |
