I know this is probably obvious but I have searched everywhere and cannot find a simple answer: in C3 how do I determine parentage? I must be missing it somewhere. I have a first egg hatch but no idea who the father is.
Also, small white numbers have appeared under the hand and by some objects. The numbers by the hand change with location. What is this and how do I turn it back off, its annoying.
Thanks. |

If the egg has already hatch, then make that Norn your selected creature, and click on it's name to get to the Creature history thing. You probably know what it looks like but I like adding images. Click on the egg icon on the Creatures history page, and it will take you to the lineage page. For example, Dusty Rat, in the image, was spliced and has already had two children.
The white numbers can be turned off by either pressing control+shift+R or control+shift+T.

Thanks, Kitty! I knew it had to be something obvious.
What I am finding frustrating is that everything has to be done real time, nothing works on pause. So if I need to read those pages or go to another room to get something, I miss whats happening. by the time I figure out whose eggs are whose, they have laid more. I finallly just put nornaneuters on them until I can figure it all out. |

There is an updated Creatures history that tells you a Norn's parent at a glance, instead of being buried in another page. I used it for a while, and I prefer it to the original one. It will take a second to load when you switch to it, but that's because it actually shows you what the parents are doing at the time, if their alive. It their dead, then it'll just show a picture of them.
I'd back up your original creatures history .cos file before installing it. Plus getting it to work in an old world is sort of tricky, but I looked at readme and it explains how to do it.
