My blog is turning one year old today and I wanted to celebrate by opening the Daily Creature Feature stream officially! At 2 PM (Pacific Standard Time) today, the Daily Creature Feature will open and the creatures will be loaded up.
Thank you to Grendelman, Clohse, Malkin, Jessica, Kitty Tikara and Miss Mysterics for submitting your creatures! I’d like to thank Jessica especially for letting me take in so many CreatureLink creatures to help get the stream started.
Remember, I'm always taking in creatures for the stream so keep them coming! You can find information on what creatures I'm taking and how to get them included on the stream page or here on the forum.

I just want to say that I'm loving the Daily Creature Feature! It's great being finally able to watch another Creatures stream, after enjoying Amaikokonut's 'Live Nornish Action' so much, and it's also really cheered me to see the bouncing plums being used.
Thank you to Kezune, and to everyone else who's contributed and helped make this stream what it is so far! I can see the DCF becoming a regular fixture amongst my open browser tabs. |

It also features the Aubergines and Roses, Laura. ;D
Anyway, here's this, copied from my blog. I thought it was important to get this out.
I’d like to remind everyone that while the Daily Creature Feature is designed to primarily feature the AFK world that I’ve created, I will occasionally broadcast other things like playing the game, testing agents, my husband wandering in and goofing around with the creatures, pretty much any number of things. The stream can also be interrupted by a poor or interrupted internet connection, having to use the computer for other things (this is my gaming machine) or I might play creatures to test agents, do wolfling runs or for normal play.
I hope you like the stream so far and I hope you enjoy or at least don’t mind the occasional interruptions to the program.
In the meantime, please keep those creatures coming! If you’d like to submit creatures, please visit the stream page for information.

Ah, excellent! Now I feel extremely warm and fuzzy.
Watching this has also taught me something... Is it bad that I didn't know you could move the Garden Box icon around, until now? |

I don't think so. Is it mentioned in the GBox readme?

I am really enjoying the stream, too. I think I'll send in some more norns as soon as my population booms again.
What metaroom has the hand icon?

That metaroom is Freedom Project released during this year's CCSF. It's totally customizable.

Another suggestion: For the metarooms that don't have their own music, perhaps you could add some to them so that they don't play the birth/death/near death music all the time even if there's no reason to.

All of the event music is really distracting, yeah, and makes watching kind of painful.

Which metarooms don't have music? I'm using undocked DS with Freedom Project and Biodome.

Maybe I'm alone in this, but I tend to just mute the sound if the event music becomes too much. I think the incessant Norn babble can be more of a nuisance though. It could be cool to have a wider variety of background music in the stream however, if Kezune feels up to it! |

I tend to mute, not just the stream, but my own games too. The norn babble and slap-a-thons get to be a bit much.

Neither the Freedom Project nor the Biodome have their own music (at least I'm sure the former doesn't). In fact, most third party metarooms don't have their own music. It's easier to list the ones that do (the Garbage Dump, KT, Devil's Reef, and the Canopy are the only ones as far as I know).
I wouldn't be opposed to muting all the sound in the stream and playing music from an outside source over it, though (Amai did something like that for LNA for a time when it was still running; she ran MNGPlayer in the background and had it play instead of relying on the in-game music).

I -always- mute the norn babble. I think it sounds horrible, so I'm glad no one seems to miss it.
I was thinking of using Pandora or a Youtube playlist but the ads seem like they'd get in the way.
What does everyone think of muting everything and using MNGPlayer?

I think it'd be a good idea. That way, everybody's happy! Plus, we can't get Pandora in the UK and I've always wanted to listen to it.
Edit: Scrap that, silly Pandora ads. MNGPlayer would do fine. |

If you can get MNGPlayer to work, then I'd be okay with that.
Also, the Comms Room is nice and all, but I don't think you'd want to leave the camera focused there for any length of time.

MNGPlayer works fine on my PC.
Also, I've been having issues with autotab. Sorry about that. XD
Addendum: Sorry about the horrible remix playing for a little while there. I've finally figured out how to get MNG Player working in my favor.

I'm playing C2toDS's .mng with MNGPlayer. I think at the time it was playing UpperTemple.

I'd rather wait till the lifts and frogs are fixed (the lifts in particular, they still seem to confuse my creatures), but I would -love- to send them to C2toDS and see what happens.

A few comments:
1. Have you considered installing the Maraquan Arm Fix? Your Maraquan Grendels and creatures with Maraquan Arms still have disjointed arms.
2. This might explain why your C1 grendels look all 'splodey, and how to get them to look normal again.
3. Do you think you can set MNGPlayer so that it randomizes the mood and stuff as well, as opposed to just the song playing? It might make things more interesting.
One more thing, although only slightly related to the stream: Is your computer 64-bit? If so, how did you get MNGPlayer to install? I tried it, only to find that the required NET framework was for 32-bit computers only. Disregard this; I figured it out on my own.

1. I thought I'd installed it already. I'll have to try again.
2. I also thought I'd done that already and will try again.
3. As far as I can tell, it already randomizes the Mood and Threat. The only options I can choose are "Randomize" and the Intervals, anyway. (And, of course, checking and unchecking songs.)
Also, I am running 64-bit windows, Windows 7. I don't think I did anything special to get it to install, though. :C
Lastly, the links for the breed list and other information will be unavailable until I can work with HostGator to get my domain sorted. Sorry, everyone. :C

Here's a thought - how about all those of us doing wolflings each send you the winner, then you wolfing them on DCF? A sort of Contest of Champions. Would that fly, do you think? |

I have had flying tomatoes and flying coconuts in C2 to DS. It usually happens when I am using the electric gates to tidy up seeds and things that get stuck behind those ocean overlays.

Nutter: I would love to do that! It would probably be afk like the stream, but I could even set up a separate world for that sort of thing.
clohse: I don't think I did something to cause it, but I've got flying tomatoes everywhere now, it seems. XD Also, I'm putting together a list of the most common agents I use and a few that I modified for the stream specifically.
EDIT: Here's that list of agents.
