This is mostly just for reference for a project I'm thinking of for the future. I have a few questions about creating new egg sprites for C3/DS... Although some of these might apply to the other games! I could do some experimentation of my own, but I figured I would see if anyone already knows any of these.
- Must the sprite file include 136 images? If one wanted just one egg color, would 136 images still be required? (My guess is "yes" since the game likely requires every spot.)
- Can the egg image sizes be different from what they are in the standard file? (Not thinking anything wildly different: Just wondering if the dimensions are written in stone, or if the game can use other dimensions.)
I might have some other thoughts eventually, but this should be enough to help me out. Thanks!

You might find some of the answers to your questions in Papriko's Basic Sprite Randomization tutorial, which uses the C3/DS egg sprite as a worked example.

Thanks, Malkin! I had glanced over that tutorial before, but looking at it in this context makes a lot of sense. Very helpful, indeed!
