Does anyone have any recommendations for a Wii driving game that has a 'free play' kind of a mode - where you're not racing and there might be obstacles, but the object of the mode is just to come to grips with the controls and 'driving' your car?
I specify a Wii game because I have occasional access to a Wii and I gather there is a steering wheel mod for the remote that could be useful. But if you think the best game for the job is on another console, please mention it! ![[ngrin] [ngrin]](/images/smilies/emot_grin.gif)

I usually just use Mario Kart and turn the CPU off. Find a track where you can drive backwards, and bam. Endless mode.

How do you turn the CPU off? And are you always reversing?

In the menu screen where you're selecting solo race or team race, there should be an options button at the top right. There you can turn items off, CPU off, etc. And nah. You just turn around so you're driving in the wrong direction, according to the game.

So the game's like 'Oh no! You are reversing, Malkin! Don't you want to win your solo race?' ?

Nope, no messages like that. There is a little Koopa guy on a cloud hovering about, holding up a "U turn" sign, but that's all.
