So, I've thought about it for a while now, but I think I honestly want to make a sort of pedigree, or family tree agent for Creatures. It could always turn into a Metaroom, sort of like The Crypt in C3.
Or an update that makes a new tab in a Creature's life events, like individual events, and pedigree....

Well it'd be structured like Drag Cave's pedigrees. You won't see the entire thing. More those directly related to the norn/ettin/grendel, and potentially half siblings...

Wouldn't it be possible to make an agent to limit creatures to be monogamous? So that once a creature breeds with another, it can only breed with that creature afterwards. Might get a bit complex however.

I think there was an agent or .cos file at some point to make creatures monogamous but I haven't been able to find it.

Back on topic, however, I actually think a Pedigree page would be awesome! The only downsie is that I need to make a new metaroom every generation and the game only stores parent info if they were in the same world as the offspring are living in.

Kezune, you put each generation in a different metaroom? I'm confused.
I think we might need to change the creature history to do part of the parent info, that way you can export creatures. Or something to where pedigree is specific to each norn.
I talked it over with NimhsLab who said it would be a great idea as long as it didn't slow the game to a crawl, before I started the topic.

It would be interesting if we could even check the info on parents, differing things as creatures breed.

No, they just would not breed with norns that they recognised as closely related - ie. 'my child', 'my parent', 'my sibling'.

I tried my hand at making a monogomous breed - they should only voluntarily breed once per lifetime, limiting them to one partner.

It's something that I have to do to keep the game playable on this little laptop. It isn't very powerful so as soon as the attic files get to big, the game starts to lag something fierce.

it is a good idea and you could always try and stop them from breeding with their grandmothers or brothers but from a wolfing run aspect it may be a bit difficult

oooh choco how well do they work? it could be really interesting to implement this

I still think it was possible. Creatures histories can be browsed back for god knows how many generations as long as it all happened in the same world.

Using that fact you would just need some "center" creature and then recursively check for all related histories.
To keep things realistic, you do not do a complete check, just a certain number of steps, so for example you have grandparents, parents, siblings, the center creature, children and grandchildren.
For each history you create a small panel and then connect them with lines, I think there is an extra command for that.
Clicking a panel could slide it to the middle and make that the new center creature. That way you could navigate.

I tell ya, it likely will be a terrible hassle, but it CAN be done.

That sounds great :D
If only there was a way to upload them off world, make a viewer for creature histories out of game, and potentially about to use an online site to upload creature histories.
I guess I'm thinking like one of those heritage sites.
I mean the Creature Repository is nice, but it'd be awesome to be able to look up your creature, and try to see if its been in other worlds, lived a life, bred eve.
A part of me thinks that is another area we could look at for how this game could truly be expanded upon..
