How would I go about writing the cos file/PRAY template for an agent so that it teaches vocabulary to a creature when pushed? :3
I've made sprites and rudimentary scripts for it already, I just need to know how to make it teach creatures. :3

Instantly teaching the vocab would be targeting the creature (e.g. TARG FROM) and then just use the VOCB command. VOCB does not need anything at all, it stands all alone in an own line.

So you mean to say that I should put:
TARG FROM
VOCB
somewhere in the agent's COS file? :3

The best would the the activation script, but yeah.
Optionally you can add some check if NORN FROM = 1, but you do not need to. I think VOCB is one of the few commands that does not mess up when used on something else than a creature...

Just been adding stuff as I go along with learning to write my own agents. To be honest, I'm just translating the CAOS HTML documentation and adding some (hopefully) useful examples. I've been programming since before these simulations came out, so I thought I'd put some of that general knowledge to good use for the Creatures community through the Wiki. I'm just glad to be helping 'cause I've always loved these games; and maybe better documentation will be more encouraging for others. ![[ngeek] [ngeek]](/images/smilies/emot_geek.gif) |
