While working on the Colortrue Pearl Mermaid Norns, I figured that now is about as good a time as any to learn a little bit about creating egg agents! Surprisingly, easyPRAY has worked out well for me, and my test egg agents have been produced without many issues. I do have a couple of quick questions that I couldn't find the answers to. Any help is greatly appreciated!
- What is the recommended size of the bitmap to be used for egg agents? On that note, I'm also trying to create unique bitmaps that show the colors... Yet I can't figure out how to create a bitmap with a transparent background. Every time I create a .c16 with SpriteBuilder, the in-game image has a white background. I use Adobe Photoshop CS5, by the way.
- When compiling the agent, is it necessary to package the .c16 files for the egg glyphs? These show up as blank if I don't put them in before injecting, which makes sense. Manually moving the files is easy enough: I just don't know if it makes sense to include these separately, but also package them with the agent.
I think that's it for now! Any other tips are welcome. I'll be testing these egg agents myself, and will likely be contacting a few people to make sure I haven't created a monster. Ha ha!

1. If you're talking about the egg glyphs, they should be roughly the same size as a baby creature's head. Not sure what that is from memory. The white background problem is probably due to Adobe Photoshop, try opening the bitmap up in another program, altering it slightly, and saving it before importing it into SpriteBuilder.
2. There's really no point packaging the egg glyphs and including them separately. If they're just showing up blank, I'd package them and forget about including a separate file. However, if it's causing autokill or other errors, then you should probably do it the other way round. |

Egg glyphs seem to be 60x60 pixels in size.

Sprite backgrounds need to be true black to be transparent in-game. Buuut if you create an image with a transparent background in Photoshop, and save it as a BMP, the program automatically adds a white background... could that be what's going on? In that case the easy solution is to just add the black background before saving.

Thank you all for the answers! Looks like I have things working now, which means that I'll be able to release egg agents with the Colortrue Pearl Mermaid Norns!
Adding the black background prior to saving seems to have solved the problem. Just need to tweak that a little bit to get rid of some ugly edges, but I was thrilled when the images showed up with a transparent backgound!
Also just tested the egg glyphs doesn't pull up an error. I've noticed that people do it differently, but that packaging the egg glyphs with the egg agent seems to work just fine. I'll be going that route! If there are any issues, though, it's quite simple to just add the .c16 files as separate files within the download for those who like to install them manually.
Pigment genetics... More genetics... And now egg agents. Guess this was my week to learn, learn, learn!
