I've always wanted to create a metaroom , agents and breeds for Docking Station but lacked the skills back in 2009 / 10 when I wanted to create the Victrix norns, I guess some of you will remember them ;
But well, it's 2013 now and starting with next week I have 2 months summer holidays and plenty of time for projects.
My question is now : Who would be interested in a Wonderland themed metaroom (Inspired by Lewis Carrol's book Alice in Wonderland ) , breeds and agents and who would like to help me with it? My problem is that I would need skilled developers that would aid me in such a difficult project but when I see what beautiful projects have been created in these years by users of Ccaves I bet we could work on such a big project together!
If interessted leave a post in the forum or message me if preferred.
My ideas include : An Alice in Wonderland themed metaroom which you enter via a hole, the rabbit house, the red queen's garden, the wood, maybe the waterworld at the begining and so on ; Bread ideas would be a rabbot breed idea, Alice breed idea ( Lol.. if I imagine the genderbend version of Alice ), the Cheshire cat breed, the Mad Hatter, etc
Writing idea : The lonely Shee tried a mushroom stew of the creatures 3 mushrooms and had a very... funny and unique experience ( Lewis Carrol himself was drugged while writing Alice in Wonderland )

Sounds interesting! Will it be based off Disney's rendition, or will it be mostly based off the book? |

Well this is a really good question, the book and the disney versions are great, however my inspiration for this was actually Alice Madness retourns, a famous but brutal game with awe-inspiring level design.
However to answer your question I wanted to actually make some kind of poll to ask the Ccave users which version they prefer.
Personally I would prefer the book over the movies.

go with the book since the animated disney movie is a combination alice in wonderland and through the looking glass and don't get me started on the tim burton film. i love tim don't get me wrong but he did not do alice in wonderland justice especially with the cheshire cat (big cheshire cat supporter here i even have a tattoo)
i can't develop or anything like that but if you need people to test things i'm your woman especially with this development idea |

Yee, good that I am not alone with my opinion :´D Great to hear. I love the cheshire cat too ^^
I even tried making the head right now but my darn art program shutted itself down without saving DDD: Noooooo -
Anyway thank you ^^

I love the idea. My question is what type of plants and critters are you planning on having? Like are there going to be flowers that say something that teaches norns that word within the area like the learning machine or large towering mushrooms or norns with sprites and scripts that allow them to seem like they are shrinking and growing?
I am a huge fan of Creatures Docking Station. |

Language, dude :<
I think the idea of a Wonderland-type metaroom is a good one; Creatures is so focused on science that it's nice to have whimsical and surreal stuff to balance it out. Disney's movie wasn't really accurate to the books, but it might still make a good reference as far as critter designs.

Oh sorry guys that I wasn't online the last days, I attended a manga convection ^^´´
Anyway I would like to create really surreal critters (Imagine a walking teacup that a norn could eat XD )
@Raymond, I like the mushroom idea of yours including the shrinking and growing, I have several different ideas regarding shrinking and growing ;
a) Aging and getting younger again, because it is is also some kind of growing and shrinking, but I guess it would be damn complicated to script
b) the regular shrinking or growing idea, maybe it then allows norn to reach hidden parts of the world ;D ? Who knows.
@ghosthande
Did I write so bad D: ??
Anyway I agree with you about the surreal critters XD if possible it would be great to create a cheshire cat breed that could turn invivisble when scared.

Language? Can't see any foul language. (Edited, perhaps..?)
Anyway, there are a lot of whimsical, mysterious, slightly Victorian elements in Wonderland that fall quite nicely in with the Creatures themes. Especially C1 (which, together with C12DS, I love, and still makes up the REAL Creatures feel). Would suit quite nicely. And I'd mix and match from books, movies and other franchise in order to make what suits the game the most (and what's designably possible).
And I still want Cheshire norns or Cheshire grendels. |

I love those critter ideas as well. And while you're at it, why restrict yourself to mimic Wonderland; why not just find your main inspiration there, and add, remove, tweak and twist freely, to get the feel from Wonderland AND Creatures. Sew it together as you see fit, and add patches from whatever element you find useful and fulfilling. ^^ |

Idk, I didn't edit my post the whole time o.o~
My main motivation is that I love steampunk and victorian times so a steampunk themed part of the wonderland metaroom and yes Bifrost, it would be good to add the best of the book movie and franchise but still remaining true to the original.
About the cheshire norns or grendels hm... the question is if they are big fluffy and grendel or fluffy norns hm...
I tried drawing them but my program shuted itself down without saving :/

A possibility, would also be to create a theme for an existing (or upcoming *cough*) metaroom, where you alter various elements. New background elements, mostly just through sprites. Replace and/or add ecology. That way, you wouldn't need to make a new room per se, but give other rooms the option to more or less become Wonderland. |

I know you didn't want to base it off of the movie but I find that Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" and the movie "Avatar" are both good examples for making background templates.
