That'll be around the time I'm getting blood drawn, so I'm not sure I'll be calm enough to attend, but I'll do my best!

I think I'll be giving this one a miss; I've had a bad afternoon and would prefer to spend the rest of it curled up in front of this film I've been meaning to watch. This isn't a reflection of what I think of Fishing Cactus/Creatures Online though! I look forward to watching the recording when I'm in a better mood. |

Feddlefew's Commentary:
-The reason beta access is Europe only is probably because it's easier for FC to arrange it. |

Just visited Fishing Cactus' Twitch.tv channel, but the advert video stutters horribly as soon as it loads, so guess I won't be able to watch. |

Feddlefew's running commentary: (Updates ~ every 15 minutes!)
I might ask people to ask a question for me, if that's okay?
1:55- Right now everyone is discussing norn appearances in the chat box. Also discussing how buggy the game may or may not be.
Q: Did FC fix the problems with norn's immune systems?
2:00- Oh, Andrea is on and the stream is now live!
2:02- Sound is off right now… okay, now it's on. It's got nice Music. The game is being played by Sophie. There is also a giant norn thing in the webcam view.
2:09: I like the norn egg design. Also the hatchery crane is rathe fidgety. Still using the same voice.
There is a supply kit, which in game coins are used to buy supplies from.
I think the tutorial is pretty good so far.
The animations are pretty smooth so far.
Also the hoppers are adorable <3
I think the head looks a bit big on the body, but that could just be because she's a baby. She spent the first minute or two kicking random things, just like a norn would.
2:28- Hmmm…. "Egg store".
Ohhoh- this little guy is adorable! I'm liking the fur patterns.
Also the applet things are back. So far there is an owner's kit (seems to function like a cross between the hoverdock and the C3/DS owner's kit), the market place, and the
Norn sleeping animations are adorable.
Now we are going over language. Instead of typing, you say things by clicking on the relevant item and selecting an action.
Ah, I forgot to mention that there's an item called a coin foundry, which runs off of bio energy, and makes coin.
There is learning machine
There seems to be a lot of environmental objects available, like- OH GODS THE SHEE HEAD STATUE IS THE LEARNING MACHINE!!!
As was saying, the market place seems to have a lot of selection, like different animals.
The bottom of the owners kit has a row of symbols labeled "genes". I wonder if this is an abstract representation of aperency genes.
Sleep medicine makes a return!
2:44-Norns seem less independent then before, as has been commented on in the chat.
There seems to be a way to indicate where norns should lay their eggs in the shop?
The norns a slapping each other and chatting.
Aging seems to be possible via potion.
Norns are nicely peroration as adolescent and older. I think this is leading up to the breeding tutorial.
It looks like there are ways to plant food for norns, and instruct them to care for the plants.
The game is reminding me a bit of candy box and A Dark Room right now. Well, a bit more of the later, but you're all probably more familiar with Candy Box.
So, by training norns to care for fruit plants, it's possible to leave them alone for extended periods of time. However, it looks like the world starts our devoid of food and toys.
2:58-Poisonous mushrooms are mentioned, and one of the animals eats them. Also, we've just started the breeding tutorial 45 minutes in.
Haha, they're too buys paling with the learning machine to mate. And them Cheese (the male) decided to take a nap….
Female norns seem to have breast-like bumps on their chests. Also, the time to lay eggs and for eggs to hatch doesn't seem like too long
(I missed the baby norn being born. she looks a lot like her mother, but her fur paten is different. )
Okay, looks like the nest sign is coming into play, and there is now another egg. So far the egg shel pterns have been pretty natural.
The new norn (a boy named butters) does demonstrate the fur-patern blending between parents pretty well.
Q: can norns get sick?
3:15- Norns are still kicking things.
The machine with the blue tube between it is indeed a splicing machine.
Norns are just as fecund as ever- there's already been three pregnancies!
Butters the norn is too busy playing with a critter to eat X^D
[Q: What kinds of environmental dangers are in the game? Also are norns cold or warm blooded in this game?
Hello… There's a teleporter to be fixed! I bet it leads to the tree tops! I wonder, will we be seeing angry Norneto?
The new baby norn is a very pretty female- she looks a lot like her brother! (she is now named Nornita)
2:28- The portal has been fix. It seems population is limited by world size- the new world is the treehouse area. Also, when you move to a new region, a there is already an egg waiting.
The name newborn animation is getting on my nerves a little, I hope it's just a place holder.
The gene splicing panel keeps point up!
(it's a bug according to Andrea.)
I find it amusing that cookies are the go too food.
…LOL. Well, that's quite the place holder.
Also, having alters instead of electors are seems to be worrying out pretty well.
Oh my, there's bees. Bees!
-(game crashed! no data lost.)
Okay, new applet- norn collections.
Also the splicing machine seems to work like real splicing- it only takes DNA samples, instead of the entire norn. So it looks like you can reconstruct full norns from norns you already have, or have the machine research breeds.
Also there's a science kit. iIt's not complete, but it does let you select different chemicals to track. It costs to inject chemicals!
Parting thoughts: While i'm disappointed that wolfing runs are unlikely, it seems that the game is coming together nicely.
Also the giant norn thing in the webcam view? It's a costume!
The stream ended here.

I thought it was starting an hour from there, but this is definitely footage going on right now. Anyone else watching? The chat box definitely isn't working for me, though.

I couldn't watch the stream. Wait a minute, did you say we have to buy potions for Norns to age? Please, please please tell me it's not with the real-money currency. |

You can buy a potion to age them faster, but with the free in game currency, not real money currency. They can age on their own just fine too.

It's basically like using the "ages #" command, without worrying about accidentally aging your norns past breeding age. Also, during the stream, two norns aged from baby to adulthood on their own. |
