Strangeo Forum One Sick Kitty :(    Lollipop Lord C-Rex        5/5/2013 This morning seemed like any other morning, until I found Neo, one of our four cats, sprawled out on the stairs howling. I managed to unhook his claws and move him, but his back legs had completely gone, he was panting and appeared to be in agony. This was odd because an hour ago he was completely fine. I even caught him stealing some cat food out of an almost-empty tin. From what I've gathered he has Saddle Thrombus, a nasty condition where a dislodged blood clot causes the back legs to stop functioning. This is very sudden and very sad for all of us, as just two years ago the mother of our cats, Jenny, was hit by a car and died shortly after. Mum and dad have taken him to the vets, and I'm waiting for them to come home now, so please keep Neo in your thoughts.   ham5ter     5/5/2013 Oh god That is so sad. I Feel so sorry for you and Neo. I Hope he will be fine! moep!   Lollipop Lord C-Rex     5/5/2013 Thanks ham5ter. Neo sadly had to be put to sleep but at least he isn't in pain anymore. Apparently the saddle thrombus was caused by a congenital heart defect, which explains why he wasn't active and never put on weight.   mip     5/5/2013 I'm sorry for your loss, C-Rex. I'm really starting to miss Neo's presence around the house; he used to always meow for food whenever my parents came home from shopping, but now there's just silence.   Rat-tailed     5/5/2013 Losing a pet is always horrible. But you did the right thing. No animal should be in pain like that. I've been feeling a bit better today but I still felt sad this morning when I didn't hear Neo's familiar meow waking up my mum and dad.
