"First things first. There are several breeds in the game, between 12 and 16, depending on what we manage to fit into the launch edition."
12 to 16 breeds? Now that's exciting! So many to play with! And probably more after release, too. I'm so happy!
I love that they explain how they're doing things and making them more user friendly so the game will be easy enough to understand and have fun getting creative with.
I'm a bit tired of the nay-sayers though... :/ If they don't like it why do they keep checking on it? *confused* Imagine what they could do if they actually focused their energy into something they LIKE! O.O!!

I really enjoyed the image showing all of the different ways a single pattern can be generated: Even Norns who have the same genetic appearance have the chance to be a little more unique! This little monkey-ish guy is pretty cute! As much as I still want to learn more about the complex things going on with C4, it's hard not to get excited when Norns will look adorable when munching on cookies!

Everyone else has already said it, but I'm also ecstatic about the breeds! I can't believe there will be so many, and probably many more in the future. This is going to be awesome.. *drool*
I want to create a C3 breed someday..

I love how it looks. I would, however, have tied the random patterns closer in with the genetics. The way it seems now, two cloned norns would look no more similar to each other than two random norns of the same breed. That takes realism away in my eyes. |

I got more the impression of variable expressivity, which makes it seem quite realistic, perhaps more so than the previous games. It sounds like they're only slight differences. |

Still. Even though genetically identical people often have slight differences, these are usually so marginal that only a trained eye will notice them. The same should, in my opinion, apply to genetically identical norns. |

I tend to agree. Perhaps they could have certain patterns vary more drastically, but keep the majority of them very subtle. And they certainly shouldn't vary more than genetically dissimilar Norns - does it look as though this will be the case?
Pretty impressed with the way the graphics are turning out in general. I've definitely gotten used to "the new Norn". |
