I'm trying to make the HealthBar agent output a text record of the creatures' thoughts. Would this work?
file oope 0 "creaturethoughts" 0
outs cnam
outs " thinks"
outs va01
outs "at"
outs rtif rtim "%X %Z, %d %b %Y"
file oclo
By the way, I don't care if anyone steals my ideas for their own work, as long as you don't try to stop me from making my own stuff. Many ideas I mention are things I don't have the time or skill to actually do. |

That would print several lines I guess. I can't help you with the write-to-file part, but I can give you a basic mind reading script. Here, straight from the CRC v1.3
scrp 1 1 22803 9
inst
sets va00 ""
doif norn <> null
targ norn
doif decn > 0
sets va00 read "Creature Actions" decn
else
sets va00 "<nothing>"
endi
adds va00 " "
doif catx attn <> ""
adds va00 catx attn
else
adds va00 "<nothing>"
endi
else
sets va00 "<No Creature Selected>"
endi
targ ownr
part 12
ptxt va00

This will sum up the thought of the creature in a single line, just as they would say it, e.g. "eat fruit".
Instead of targing norn, you can target any other creature too.
Part 12 is the text field.
