I've been mulling about these for nearly a month now... First idea is for C3 Norns that look like the C1 breeds, but still look like they belong in C3. (Nothing against C12DS, mind you, just that crossbreeds look a little strange...) Nothing special in the genome, just like your average Norn. The other idea I had was for a Norn with a lifespan of a Treehugger, that gets pain from loneliness, so they'd always need company. As such they wouldn't get crowded much. They'd also receive pain from hitting other creatures, and be immune to antigens and histamines. The idea came from when I tried to gengineer my little brother a pair of immortal super Norns, who could feel pain but not get injured, had the fighter instinct of a Hardman without having an angry face, immune to poisons, and looked like Astro Norns. I've done a couple prototypes for the second idea, but I messed up something in the genes and now they're homesick all the time. ![[nangry]](/images/smilies/emot_angry.gif "[nangry]") Although I did manage to get a decent pair for my brother, but they're just immune to a couple things and have a happy face instead of an angry one... I like those ideas -- especially the C3-styled C1 breeds. We'd probably have to find an epic graphic artist for that one; I'd offer myself up, except I'm not 'epic,' per se. They'd all end up looking like texturized Chichis with Ron norn ears pasted on, lol! As for the second idea, actually, I kinda wish Fallow norns always needed company like that (you know, deer herds). It's always been a pipe dream of mine to have an alternate genome for all the official breeds that use a plain old Civet or Chichi one, but, once again, I am terrible at gengineering... Don't care; I'm a bear. |

I can do the editing, I just need sprite sets as GIFs of a C3 breed. Bruin probably. I only have one editting program called CoreFX, and it doesn't work with S16 thingies. I know right? That would just be so amazing! My test subjects, Ivan and Skylar, were always homesick. And afraid of the Hand. And afraid of everything. I completely borked up their genes. I've been feeling nostalgic, yes... It would be a simple manner of editing the ears and tail, and altering the color/pattern to match, I think. The tail would be the hardest bit probably. Trell "Holy crap in a casket!" |

I think the project would be appreciated community-wide if it was ever completed, really. Even those of us who didn't or can't play C1/C2 love the playfulness old-style norns -- at least, I know I do! Don't care; I'm a bear. |

No, the ears will be the hardest bit, since there's 6 expressions for 4 angles, 4 directions, eyes closed and not closed, and 2 genders. That totals up to 384 sprites. The tail has 4 angles, 4 directions each for the root and tip, and 2 genders, which is 64 sprites. |

Actually, a total set of head sprites for a single breed has almost 1600 images, and the tail is 128 for both genders. A fully sprited breed has near 3000 individual pictures. This is why genetic breeds are more popular to make. |
