I currently have plans to release a new genetic breed for Creatures 2, named "Survivor Norns". Unfortunately, I've encountered the following problems:
1. I want the genetic breed to have a much more advanced immune system than regular Norns. How could I achieve this?
2. Is there anyway to make the breed capable of reviving itself if it becomes unconscious, such as falling into the ocean?
3. Could any of this be achieved by creating a new organ?

1. Don't know. The bone marrow organ is largely responsible for immune function IIRC, so you could start looking there.
2. I think so. Norngirl's Cupid Heart Ettins are able to revive each other by pushing. You could try looking at their genomes, and basing an involuntary action off what you find.
3. Probably. It may not be necessary. |

Thanks ylukyun. By the way, on the subject of Norn genetics do you know how I could make a Norn with black pigmentation? |

In C2, you can't really do that. The pigment genes are very mild. To get a strong color you need pigment bleed genes and as far as I know there's no way to get black from them. If you're determined to try anyway the Albia Grays will work best.
Or, you could make new sprites... |

I downloaded the Albian Gray Norns, but can't for the life of me figure out how to make them black. Do you have any hints? |

You set all the pigment genes to 0. It doesn't really make them black though, just a different shade of gray. |

What effect will the pigment bleed genes have? |

On Albia Grays, probably none. This page describes how they work in C2, but it's in German. |

Although I'm not entirely certain if it will help, you might also want to take a look at the Pigmentation System in Creatures 2... I can't make much sense of it, but it seems to provide some extra information!

Thanks for the help Jessica! I have another question though, how do I make a chemical reaction gene use a specific organ? I'm trying to make a reaction so that sex drive is converted to dancing in males, making them perform a "mating dance" of sorts.
All of my attempts so far haven't worked, as for some reason all the reactions I make use the female-only "uterus" organ, and I can't change it. ![[nangry] [nangry]](/images/smilies/emot_angry.gif) |
