So I really want to have a page on Creatures Caves where people can go and read new posts from all the community blogs. However, getting PHP to read RSS or ATOM seems difficult.
Anyone more familiar with this and can shed some light on how to do it? I've been searching around the internet for a while now but can't find any solid answers.

A page syndicating recent blog content would be awesome... I've long hoped for a more elegant solution than the clunky Creatures Bundle, especially since I imagine not everyone uses google reader.
That said; sorry, I haven't got any brilliant ideas for you. Maybe look into Magpie RSS (I know little of it but it's a bookmark in my "Aiko PLEASE learn a useful programming language/PHPstuff" folder, maybe it's worth a shot)
Good luck in your valiant efforts to keep making CCaves better and better <:

Thanks for the info, Amaikokonut! I glanced over Magpie RSS briefly before but it didn't seem easy to work into my website. I'll spend some more time tinkering with it though.
I really wish I could just use the include(); command with an RSS URL. I don't why it's so difficult to include RSS feeds in PHP. ><
If you have any general questions about PHP feel free to ask.

Hmm, there is a thing in JavaScript (I think it uses a library) that just lets you fill a div with content from a file. That should work with RSS feeds... they're XML, right? |

I'd imagine your best bet would be to use one of PHP's many XML libraries to parse the files, then maybe use xpath or somesuch to grab the wanted entries? I can throw together some example code at some point if you'd like |
