News Forum COBs Section Renovation Complete    Caves Dweller Rascii    Administrator     11/21/2012  6 I have just finished implementing some massive updates for the COBs section that I hope everyone will like. COBs now have: - Dedicated "author(s)" fields - "Version" fields (e.g. 2.10) - URL fields (for including a link to the original website or for linking to a supplementary agent, etc.) - "Updated" dates which automatically change whenever a COB is edited COBs can now be: - Sorted by "last updated" (all of the COBs that were updated after being posted will be listed first, in order of most recent update) - Edited by their authors (yes, you can now alter the information for a COB that you have posted, including uploading a new version of the zip file and changing the "version" field to reflect that change) - Posted without a zip file (this means that you may now post COBs that aren't hosted by Creatures Caves, but that people may want to find, and instead of including the zip file you can just provide the URL where it can be downloaded. So the COBs section is now more of a "community COB library" rather than simply a place where some COBs are hosted) Additionally, as I posted in the "Do You Like It?" thread yesterday, COBs can now be sorted by popularity (i.e. most likes) and there is now a "Most Popular" box at the top. As always -- feedback welcome. And be sure to post some of your favorite COBs to help populate the library (with just images and URLs if the authors haven't given explicit permission for Creatures Caves to host the files). - Rascii   Pez   11/21/2012  1 Liking this, Rascii! The downloads section is looking so much better, and I can't wait to watch it become more extensive with all its sparkly new features. It was definitely a good idea to allow COBs/agents to be added via website link, and allowing authors to edit their own uploads will certainly cut out any hassle.
