I'd like to make my downloaded agents to appear in a specific order in my game by renaming them. This is all private use, I hope it's considered as okay...
I opened a file with Monk, did the change in the *.txt file, turned it back into an *.agent and got it to work.
I proceeded with a few files and noticed that some files weren't showing up. I'm not sure what's going on but I noticed this pattern;
---
I renamed (just example names) three files;
Fauna - A
Fauna - B
Metaroom - A
When putting all three files in my folder, following shows up;
Fauna - A
Metaroom - A
When putting "Fauna - A" and "Fauna - B" in my folder, following shows up;
Fauna - A
When putting "Fauna - A" and "Metaroom - A" in my folder, following shows up;
Fauna - A
Metaroom - A
When putting "Fauna - B" and "Metaroom - A" in my folder, following shows up;
Fauna - B
Metaroom - A
---
It seems like "Fauna - A" and "Fauna - B" overrides the other or something. What am I doing wrong? ^^;
Both of the "Fauna" files got a C3 and a DS version of them. I suspect something is going on there...

You haven't mentioned their actual names, so lacking that information, my guess is some kind of naming convention problem...
C3 and DS will completely ignore agents if they don't have totally original names, not allowing either to show up in the injector. This gave me major headaches when I was still a CAOS newbie, because I'd be looking for some kind of drastic PRAY error and it would turn out the only problem was with the name... even if it was just the C3 and DS options for the same agent. It's very finicky in that respect. Since both fauna agents are okay when kept separate, my guess is something in their names may be conflicting with each other.

Ooh, I think I named the C3 and DS versions the same thing. I'll try that.
Thanks

Hmm, seems like the names are just too similar. I wonder how much they have to differ in order to work?
If named "Fauna - Alpha (DS)" and "Fauna - Beta (DS)", only "Fauna - Alpha" would show up. But when I named them something completely random, both showed.
EDIT
I think I've figured this one out... and it's... really silly. I renamed the actual *.agent files too, and it seems like I used symbols (spaces) the game didn't like ^^;;; |
