I'm trying to understand how CATO works...If I use it to change an agent's category, does the agent just "pretend" to be that category and still keep using its same scripts/classifier, or does it need new scripts using a new classifier in the new category?
For example: I was thinking of using it to change a leaf to detritus after it had been on the ground for a while, but using the same sprites, no visual change...so it already has eat scripts and stuff. I just wanted it to become detritus for a while before vanishing, so the bugs could use it.
I tried looking at some existing agents, but without much luck. Most of them seem to just create new detritus with new sprites instead of making it from something that's already there.
(Which just seems wrong. Because it's detritus. So it SHOULD be made from something that's already there. I live in the PNW, after all. We're all about reusing/recycling! )

In my experience the agent just pretends to be another category, using all it's same scripts. But it's been a while since I've tried to use it, so I could be wrong. |

Ooh, I was hoping that was how it worked, thanks!

You can make CATO govern what stims your objects give, as well: Doif I'm pretending to be?.
