I'm thinking someone should make a list of numbers for newbies with some broad suggestions for things like how long plants should live / bloom, how many ticks things should take, sample numbers for all the physics values...there are so many things I keep needing to plug numbers into that I have no frame of reference for!
On a somewhat related note, I've discovered that my modified trappers are WAAY too prolific...I didn't change the original population settings that much, that I recall, but the new ones tend to be much better-fed than their predecessors, and they multiply commensurately. I need to tone them down a bit or they're going to take over the universe.
Also, even more tangential, but I discovered that piranhas don't eat them! I may have to recreate my piranha overpopulation in the biodome just to watch the trappers take care of it. (I'm normally not that bloodthirsty. The piranhas just seem to set off some primordial thing in me.)
And now I'm off to bed, and then to do nursey stuff for a day before I get to play with my agents again. Thanks, everyone, for all your help and encouragement!

Piranhas only eat moving things, I believe. Critters, beasts, creatures, etc.
By the way, I don't care if anyone steals my ideas for their own work, as long as you don't try to stop me from making my own stuff. Many ideas I mention are things I don't have the time or skill to actually do. |

They definitely don't eat plants or weeds. You can probably change them so they eat trappers specifically, if you feel like it.
I'll see what I can do about the numbers list. It would be based on the existing agents, I'm assuming that's the sort of thing you wanted? |

Yeah, that would be very helpful just for getting a sense of what the numbers mean!
I know piranhas don't eat plants. I must have just gotten so fond of the darned trappers I started thinking of them as something more. If I start giving them names, somebody please come take away my computer, okay?
(But only for a little while, of course...)

Here's the document, hopefully at least some of it will be useful. |

Depending on the performance of your machine, there's about 20 ticks per second - Liam gets 19.5 ticks to his second, I suspect I get less.
From this, we can surmise that 1200 ticks is meant to approximate 1 minute of real time.

Nice, thanks Malkin! Hey, Ylukyun (boy, my autocorrect really doesn't like your name!), any chance of getting that added to your awesome numbers document?

OK, I've added the information about ticks Thanks Malkin. |
