This is something I've always thought would be very cool: Moving the docking station capillata to different planets and being able to interact with them.
So it would be like this:
. Via the comms room, set course for a planet or something in space you can dock to.
. Wait a while (Preferrably 10 seconds but depends on how far away it is)
. Use a teleporter in the workshop to beam down creatures to whatever your docked to
.You can teleport back up to the capillata ONLY if its docked to the area where the teleporter your trying to activate is, but any other teleporter works fine obviously
Basically your not actually moving the ship, but it simulates it in a way.
Good idea?
EDIT: It could be the same teleporter with the green/red/blue buttons in the workshop.
EDIT2: What about planets that are impossible to live on? There should be some small dome thing where creatures can be in and you could send robots outside the dome?
EDIT3: Dock to abandoned shee stations? |

That's a neat idea! I like that...
I'm sure there's even a way to create a "grid" system where people could add planets and it could determine travel time etc. automatically.

I had to put it so that the capillata is still in space, but in orbit of the dockable object and has to beam things down because if the capillata actually landed on the planet, the background for the interior would still be in space. |

This really remind me of spore somehow XD
but hey it's not bad at all :3
also why not add a way to make the planets live-able?
Like spores terraforming *horrible way they made that idea..ugh Im still not getting it right on those missions*
but in a better and easier way - just adding stuff as you allready do to make plants thrive (agents that is )
Sure you mentioned domes - wich could be neat - but why not also try keep them in the dome til the planet is live-able as well?
Could probably make the dockins station gaming to a new level - and a fun one,it sounds like at least. |

I understand that C3/DS meta rooms work by creating a coordinate plain (I do not know how big exactly) and the game engine limits the number of meta rooms you can have because two rooms can't share the same space without breaking things.
Would it be possible to create a patch that allows more plains? The one the game normally uses could be 0, and the planets could occupy smaller ones numbered 1 to x. |

I don't think that's necessary given that the world map size can be greatly expanded, a fact most of the newer metarooms already take advantage of. I doubt people will ever use the whole of the available space on the expanded map, ever, much less for one collective project.

I think its better that uninhabitable planets stay uninhabitable, but you should be able to plan expeditions to get certain resources from these uninhabitable planets (If you don't choose to fly over there and pick it up with the hand tleast) using robots. |

In theory you could have an infinite amount of different planets to land on.
Perhaps a navigational computer with a map of the entire Creatures galaxy, so you can just enter some coordinates and have the Capillata fly over there to investigate the planet/asteroid at that location. If any.
Only thing that's missing is a way to visit the same planet twice, but I might be able to come up with something.
Few of the planets would be permanently habitable, though... Since that would take work and stuff. *cough*
