| Massive new c2-style world | |

I'm starting the motions for a massive new world (hopefully at least two albias long by three wide!), with everything fresh. Of course there'll be plenty of new breeds, objects, and life in the world, and the best part is this isn't gonna be a topic begging help from programmers and spriters because me and my boyfriend will be doing all that ourselves!
I'd love to hear your ideas for things to include in a new world for norns to explore, all suggestions happily taken though it'll be norn breeds and the world itself i'm working on first. |

Wow!
What game is this for? There's a limit as to how much C3/DS can inject at once--hence why really big rooms like KT are split into pieces. Definitely check to make sure that the game can handle injecting a metaroom that big, it would be terrible to only discover a hitch like this afterward!
Other than that, sounds really exciting!

C2 (both our favourite, plus more acessable for me to do graphics-wise), but once it's done i'd not object to people cutting up whatever bits they wished for the later games. |

Unfortunately C2 worlds can only be a certain set width and height (that of the original Albia.)
Good luck anyway! Personally I would like to see a big stretch of desert area. And maybe a river. |

YAY C2 is always my fav! A nice large water area somewhere would be great as I love Mernorns.

Really, set height and width? Well, i guess that's just another obstacle we can try to work our way round1 (or give up eventually and go for c2albia size)
A river's a cool idea, and at least one nice big interesting sea for some mercreatures is planned.
And gumbo, you totally should, new world or not! C2 is such a gorgeous game, i think personally that it has a lot more charm to it than c3. |

This sounds very neat! Lusewing's YouTube videos have made me want to play Creatures 2 again: Such a beautiful world! I'm not too picky on what to include: I love a variety of scenes and a decent ecosystem, so it should be pretty easy to get me interested. Ha! Good luck with this idea!

Unfortunately set height and width in C2 is not something you can work around, it's very specific.

Hmm. No chance? How about linking several worlds of the max size?
Me and my partner are setting up a site soon to show progress and to take suggestions, i'll post the link when we're done. I'm looking forward to introducing you to the discworld of CORE! |

You could set up multiple worlds with a different theme, but there'd be no way to run them at the same time while connected. The size of the world is hard-coded, which means there is no way to chance it unless you can read and write machine code or something.
What you can do is focus on making as much of the world potentially habitable as possible. The C2 world was large, but lots of it was laboratory, volcano and areas with tricky slopes and stuff.

Hm. Cramming as much as is possible without it being cramped i'll certainly do my best with, but about multiple worlds, would people find it a turn-off if we made it a kind of 'multi-disk' creatures? For instance, if you wanted a norn to acess the inner ring of core, you have it push the door and it gets exported, then youd open the inner world and import your norn to the 'other end' of the door. would it be too much bother, or would it be worth having 2 or more worlds to explore? |

The bother part would be that your Creatures would randomly export themselves without being able to turn back. :/
I know that in C3 you can set variables to Norns and these get carried along when exported/imported, so if this is possible in C2 as well you could use it to have Norns 'earn' the right to visit the next world by having them reach the passage.
Having multiple worlds would work best if they're designed in such a way that there's no real need for your creatures to travel back and forth constantly.

Hand-operated only, perhaps (ha). And they'd be worlds that worked fine independantly, not switching between them all the time because that would definitely be really annoying.
These are what we're considering/working on at the moment. It'd be great if any of you could let me know how eager you'd be to see any of these things in a world so we know which ones to drop!
A big system of caves (some filled with water, attatched to the sea, so the mernorns have lots of room to swim)
An aquatic nornbreed to go with it (deep sea glowing norns, ornate seahorse norns?)
Ruins (jungle?), with lots of interactive stuff?
Secret adventure mode?
Suggestions happily taken as always.
If you don't usually, check out the fan art section to see some of the breeds that might be included (lemme know which ones you like best!), i'll have another one up today, if you kept an eye on contest results you'll know what! |

Ha! Didn't think of that, awesome. I'm sure it'd be possible to make the males have the babies. Great idea! |
