Terribly sorry, but I am in trouble. Put simply, Creatures Exodus is no longer opening.
For some reason, trying to start it up using a desktop shortcut results in the game being in german. I need to go into the Exodus-Docking Station file and manually start the engine. This has always worked, but for some reason, it now shows this error message:
DirectoryManager::ReadFromConfigurationFiles
NLE0001: 'Main Directory' setting not found.
Windows NT/2000 6.1 build 7600 ()
OriginalDisplay DirectX (no modules)
Mon Dec 20 13:43:33 2010 - PeeJay - 2.296
The options available are "Continue" (which does nothing but close the message) "Quit" and "Brutal Abort".
Could it be possible for someone to tell me what is the wrong? (By the way, PeeJay is name of the account being used.)
All attempts to help are appreciated. |

I'm not too sure what is wrong, but a reinstall usually fixes similar issues for me.

Wouldn't that not keep my Creatures?
And all my added agents? |

Copy your My Agents and My Worlds folders and you should be fine.

Oddly enough, the My Worlds folder appears to be empty. |

The Exodus editions of Creatures save their 'frequently changing' files in the Documents folder of your user account.
If you have Windows Vista or 7, you can find your My Worlds folder at:
| C: \Users\<Username>\Documents\Creatures\Docking Station\My Worlds |

Cheers, Lembamjunior, the worlds are there and appear to be correct. Of course, I do not have the slightest clue what the folders are supposed look like inside, but...Meh.
The My Creatures folder is still empty, however. |

I think the 'My Creatures' folder is where your creatures go when you export them, I could be wrong.

Ah. So. I copy/paste my world from the My Worlds folder into a safe place, uninstall and reinstall the game, then stick my world into the new My Worlds file? Seems logical. |

Yeah, that should work, unless your computer becomes sentient and finds the folder and makes sure there is no trace of it left...

Let's not turn this into a discussion, guys. If you must have a disagreement, I'll thank you to take it into private message and not air it out publicly in the forums.
Back to helping each other, please. |

...Ahem. For the record, I was being sarcastic. Anyway, I can't find the accursed "uninstall" button so after a little more searching I am just going to manually delete the thing. |
