Part 3:

The two continued on their happy ways, and not a single worry came to mind. To some norns their relationship was still seen as foolish. It was especially pointed out in the few hours to come, and the two hadn't realized it until now.

The treehugger norn was starting to feel strange, she felt a lot more tired suddenly and didn't want to move much. She was also getting a bit sick to her stomach. But the obvious reason why this was happening hadn't occurred
to her one bit. She assumed at first the lemons didn't work completely and her love had made her sick after all. Pacing the bottom floor of the Norn Meso, she thought to herself anxiously. "It didn't work after all, did it? But I thought the lemons could really make you feel better. Was I wrong in kissing him? Maybe my fragile body really can't handle it?" She had no idea what to do. She decided to ask a friend of hers, who was an intelligent gargoyle norn. She was lounging about in the Norn Garden on the very first floor near the entrance. "Hi there," said the treehugger. The gargoyle saw her concerned face. "Are you alright dear?" she asked.

"I'm not really. I kissed my mate earlier today, and now I feel sick. I ate several lemons so that he wouldn't get me ill, but I'm beginning to think they didn't work..." She looked down at the ground with her ears drooped.

"Sick? Did you kisspop him, by any chance? Not a kiss on the cheek?" asked her friend, fluttering her wings nervously.

"Kisspop? You mean on the lips? Yes....we did." The treehugger norn looked wide-eyed.

"Oh dear...oh, oh dear...tut tut..." her friend clapped her furry hand to her face. The treehugger stared, frightened. "I...I did the wrong thing, didn't I? I really AM ill..."

"No dear, the reason why you are sick is because kisspopping makes you pregnant."

At the sound of this, the treehugger went pale. "P...pregnant...? M-me?"

"Yes...but I thought you knew about this. All norns know, or so I thought. Your parents didn't educate you on the birds and the bees?" Her friend looked bewildered.

"No, um...I never knew my parents. I did catch a glimpse of my mother, but she was killed by a grendel. When I was raised, it was by many norns. I was never taught these things for some reason. Maybe that's why I never chose a treehugger as my mate." Her friend put a hand on her shoulder. "I'm here for you no matter what, dear. I'll help you have the egg, if need be. But if this baby is half toxic...I'm hoping he or she will be able to survive, since both breeds are very different."

"I will have it no matter what. I will show the world that our child is a blend of both and maybe norns will love each other no matter the breed more often," replied the treehugger. She now gazed down at her belly, and patted it. "Do you know when the egg will arrive?" she asked her friend.

"It will very soon, in perhaps a half hour. Our eggs develop very fast," said the gargoyle. "Your stomach is soon going to be much larger. How many symptoms have you had?"

"I felt really tired first, and then I couldn't eat anything because my stomach felt nauseous and wouldn't agree."

"It will be here before you know it," her friend answered. "Let's inform your mate and make preparations."
