I've recently installed C3/DS on my Laptop, but I am not happy with the fact that there is no source available stating what the best, essential COBS and Addons actually are. To resolve this problem, I've started this thread so that people who have needed to perform a clean reinstall of C3/DS or are new to it know what the best addons are to the game so that they don't have to keep searching the internet.
You must explain what the best addons you have used are, and provide a link to download them.

What about the Autovendor?
It will vend endless food for your norns and will keep your food on 'population'.
The Cornucopia is avaible on the same link, it will vend food, toys, seeds, and fruit, a lot of things are very healthy for your norns, and there is also a fruit which makes your norns live longer. |

I think except of Update 2 and the CRP is it about 99% personal taste which Addons are really "essential".
I don't want to ruin this topic, so I also make a few suggestions. Cupid's Lyre, MultiAgent-Gold and some other stuff by Hausmouse are really useful...

Essential? Only for me are the CFEs and C3/DS fixes:
Creatures Heaven
And of course the official breeds that are free to download |

The agents/fixes above are good, and personally I also like Norn to Inventory and Door Jammer (so I can keep different breeds in different terrariums.)

I really enjoy Clohse's 5 in 1 fruit tree - it adds fruit which isn't hidden in vendors to the top level, detritus which persists past five seconds, is really pretty, and reminds me of C1.

I'd say C12DS is pretty necessary but i'm fairly biased.

I'd say the C3 in DS metarooms are pretty essential for any DS standalone worlds, especially if you're conducting a DS-only Wolfling/Feral Run. They include The C3 crypt, which I found really useful to keep track of any deaths.
You can download them all from here. |

Hey Seefar1, welcome to the forums!
I don't know anything about the Autobutler, but Moe and Malkin have already answered your question about feeding your Gill Norns here. |

I can't believe I didn't mention this, but the Tuba Seeder by Moe is an absolute little ripper!

The Eggernator is essential for me - it allows you to inject genomes, clone norns and remove stuck eggs (including rescuing eggs from norns who died while pregnant).
By the way, I don't care if anyone steals my ideas for their own work, as long as you don't try to stop me from making my own stuff. Many ideas I mention are things I don't have the time or skill to actually do. |

Two C3-DS agents which I personally consider indispensable are Stop Slapping Norns and Stop Slapping Creatures. These agents are somewhat misnamed, since they actually don't literally prevent Norns from hitting other Norns (in the case of SSN) or from hitting Ettins or Grendels (in the case of SSC), although they supposedly discourage Norns from engaging in physical violence and reduce the likelihood that a Norn will fatally beat a fellow Norn or other creature to death. What they do is force the victim(s) to say when they are being hit and by whom as well as forcing the aggressor(s) to "confess" whom they are hitting. This makes it much easier to deal appropriately with the offender(s), either by means of punishment or re-education, and avoid inadvertently punishing the victim(s) or an innocent bystander due to the difficulty in determining who was hitting whom (especially in situations when both the victim and the aggressor are part of a larger crowd).
This is where you can find Stop Slapping Creatures. The DS versions of both SSC and SSN are available in the Downloads section here on CC.

I didn't know that was how SSC worked. I might have to try it out. |

I didn't either, Nox, thanks!! I will need to have that.
I second the Medical Monitor that Malkin suggested as well as the x-ray device. The updated version has a great graphing section that gives your information on any chemical you need! I also love the tube seeder and the Magic Words Core system. I think all but the last one you can get from CC.. can't remember where Magic Words comes from, but I love the "clone" command when I need foodstuffs and lots of it.
EDIT: Magic Words Core and all of its add-ons can be found here. Also, the site Nox linked too also has Cluck's Vocabulizer that is also pretty great.
I want to create a C3 breed someday..

While I don't know if I would call them essential as such, three C3-DS agents I came across in the past few days which I find very helpful are...
A handy shelf to put things on (I often use it inside my inventory bin)
A plug-in which will put the selected norn's name into a speech bubble when you hit CTL-N -- it helps save wear and tear on your fingers (and especially with norns that have names of more than two syllables)
Nametags for the norns (the nametags appear under their feet and are color-coded according to gender -- particularly useful for very large norn colonies) |

There are essential fixes like the .cos fixes mentioned above, and the heat transfer in water CA fix. But things I find myself installing in every (or practically every) world (if there's no link, it means it's in the downloads section):
Magic Words Core, Room Edits, Garden Box, Advanced Muco (lets you scroll through installed breeds)
Agents: Moe's Heater (displays current temp as well)
Torii (creatures see it as a door)
Elevines (creatures see them as elevators)
Terra Nornia Toy Pack
Rubrick's Cheese
Emmental's Medical Monitor and Norn Statistics
For wolflings, a combo of Clucky's advanced eggfinder and timer; also, the Updated Creature Counter.
Plants: Grow Control Plant (good for ponds)
Tea Time Plants (good for Veridia)
Botanoids (good for metal areas) |
 Mad Scientist
clohse

Emmental's Medical Monitor and Norn Statistics are normally the first few agents injected.

Garden Box and/or the Superfood Vendor are two superb things, food wise. They allow a nice sustainable food supply when considering that they both allow plantlife to give food. One being more reliable than the other in terms of creatures depleting supply. Both are extremely essential to me, though with Creatures:Exodus I only use the vendor.
Agreed on the Miracle Heal but it is in fact a slight cheat button. Works for illness and related, but not for hunger. It's a great emergency button but does, at least for me, make all my norns do a weird limping dance for a short while.
C1toDS is a great one too. Even if you don't want the world, it's an option for every world you create, and there's still tons of breeds that come with it as well as a login disabler. Also, the breeds are optional.
