What about using C12DS instead? I'm using it right now, and it's as good as the original C1. Plus, you get the added bonus of combining C12DS with C3/DS if you have a docked world - it's like three games rolled into one. |

Well, did you get the C1 version from GoodOldGames.com or are you trying to install it from an old CD?
I do't think it'll work from the CD as Vista doesn't play nice with the original C1.
What you can try is to install it with full admin rights.

I have already have C1 to DS, but I miss the special touch the original C1 world has. I'm trying to install it from the C1 CD. I'm already that adminster of my computer and is always logged in as one. Where do I find Administer settings?

You can just right-click on the program shortcut/icon on your start menu and click "Run as administrator" when you want to run the program.
Or if you want to turn user account control off completely--which will prevent Vista from overreacting to this and other programs--go to:
Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety -> User Accounts
One of the "Turn User Account Control on or off". Click that. It will give you a warning but hit "OK".
The warning it give you can make it sound like turning it off is this big scary risk, but really having it turned on doesn't help much of anything, so for convenience's sake it's a pretty good idea to turn it off. Most people I know who play The Sims on Vista prefer to turn it off because it's so much simpler to play/mod games without it interfering all the time. And you can always turn it right back on later if you change your mind for some reason.
