Hello everyone.
I had a silly problem: after hatching a rare ettin (very specail, actually) all was fine. Until I started again session, then there was an error and suddenly all in that world returned as it was previously. Oh no!
My question is, is there any method for recovering such data in a DS world?
Thanks. |

Hi Vlooper, welcome!
What did the error message say - can you remember it, or copy/paste? I'm not good with problems like this but others here are, and knowing what the error is can help them to help you more. |

Thanks
Sadly I can't remember the message exactly, but it contained references to a "skelleton error".
The ettin was a copy or another which was the final result of splicing several grendels, ettins, norns and geats (Black blobs to my knowledge) with the DS version of the splicer.
The ettin was in an eggernator before closing DS.

Try repeating what you did before the error showed up, then take a screenshot, so you can remember everything on the error |

The maker of the Black Blobs is Arnout. Maybe you should ask him.

If you go into your genetics folder for that world, you should find three folders, one called 'attic', one called 'basement' and one called 'porch'. If you're patient, you could try each genome - the 'nasty' named ones will be grendels. This way you could hatch an identical clone to your ettin.

I found the genome in the basement folder! Thanks to everyone for the help. However, recreate the conditions is something I haven't done yet (This time I haven't got the error).
Anyway, if you like to see the genome, here is a link for download.
If you are thinking about testing it, I strongly suggest you to make a security copy of any valuable data in your world.
