I'm just wondering, is there ever such a thing as too many COBs/Agents in our worlds?
I have C1 (The Albian Years) running well on my Vista Home Premium machine atm, but is there a good possibility that my game will go *KABOOM!* if I inject too many COBs? This is with the Creatures Remastered Patch btw.
I guess I just feel more paranoid about crashes being that C1 is probably more fragile on Vista. I'm about to go on a download spree over at Geatville you see, to ensure my game is more enjoyable (see How Do You Play Creatures?), but it'll be just a huge joy killer if too many causes my computer to soil itself.
What do you guys reckon? Should I just go for it? |

The more items you inject the slower the game will run and the more chance you'll inject a cob with a bug in it that will cause a game crash at some point, but its important to get a world you can enjoy.
The best method is just to backup the game regularly -
In the C1 folder copy the World.sfc file (or the one you are using if you run multiple worlds) and save the copies (possibly name by date or numerically) as you go so you can always return to an earlier version if something goes wrong

Thanks Don, making regular backups is a great tip. Am I right in assuming that uninstalling any COB that causes my world to crash would fix things too? (It's been a long time since I played this - I need my memory refreshed) |

If you remove any buggy cobs from the world using the object injector it'll remove all the relevant scripts from the world too.
Sometimes though by the time it's gone wrong it can be rather too error-city to be able to keep the game loaded for long enough to remove though I think I recall; but it should be fairly reliable.
I used to have several Albias I'd switch between to try different things back in C1
