Okay...it seems Microsoft managed to bork something else. I went into the Registry Editor, to do what I always do with C1...enable the Doctor cheat.
I edited the entry..but it has no effect. C1 opens the same as it does without the edit. Anybody have any clue why something as simple as a registry edit would NOT work? |

Is that for the original C1 and not the remastered Albian Years?

This is the Albian Years version. Running in Compatibility Mode for Windows XP, Service Pack 2.
The cheat always worked for me in Vista, so I have no idea why it won't work in Windows 7. |

I haven't known the cheats to work with The Albian Years, due to the different registry structure. You say you had it working with Vista though? It should work the same in 7.

Yeah, I know. It really confuses me. It's sort of like another game I had, which worked on Vista, but doesn't in 7. It makes no sense.
Maybe my computer just doesn't like me. If worse comes to worse, maybe I'll just have to learn how to use the Virtual PC with Windows XP mode. |

Sorry for the double post, but this was a false alarm. I figured it out.
See, I edited the wrong registry entry. I was editing the one under Millennium Interactive, for C1. The trick is, to edit the one under Gameware Development. That is likely why people couldn't get the Albian Years to work with the Doctor cheat.
If anyone wants me to, I could edit the CWiki article for the cheat, so people will know how to get said cheat to work in Windows Vista or Windows 7. |

Yeah, having it on Cwiki would be really helpful
