| Engine crashed? On Vista... | |

Hi there guys. We finally got a Vista because the XP needs fixing. I wanted to see if Creatures Exodus would work on there, and it did, at first. But then as I installed C12DS, there were some odd glitches(ex: the learning machine randomly disappeared when I clicked on it). Then all of a sudden, DS shut down and it said that ''engine.ex'' had stopped functioning. This never happened before...I don't understand it. o.o
If anyone could help, then thank you so much! If not, well, I'll just wait for the XP to be up and running(if Dad doesn't procrastinate with it)

Have you tried running it again since then? DS works fine for me and I have Vista, if it only shut down the one time it could have just been a one-time thing. That can happen occasionally.

Yes, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, and it still acted funny.

...I meant just playing the game again. Does DS act funny always, or just when C1toDS is injected?

When I tried playing it again, and when I clicked on the world, it didn't load at all and that engine crash message popped up. This was before I uninstalled.
C3 works alright but it is just DS bridged with C3 that is odd...
Normally DS is completely fine, but not this time around. :/

Hmm. I can see Vista taking issue with programs trying to access each other--like trying to "stop" them from doing so which can result in weird problems--although I don't currently have C3 on my computer so I can't test it for myself.
Have you tried turning off User Account Control and seeing if that helps? That usually fixes problems when Vista is the culprit.

Yeah, I turned it off because it was bothering me.

did it work? I have vista and plan on putting exodus on it,so that might help me,plus I'm gonna need rehab or something to get over my creatures addiction.

The learning machine problem is a general problem. its happen also on Windows 98, Windows XP, etc...
I dont like the learning machine form C1, I use the amulet of teaching or the holo learning machine form DS
