Those are some gorgeous Petz, Lisha - love all the shades of red! And that raffle hexie is very interesting, too. The new Petz games are a sort of injustice to the originals, if you ask me. I tried them once, if only for a few minutes... did not enjoy it. |

Sure is! There's a tool out there called "Tinker" that you can use. In the menu, select "modify carrying case" and add whatever toys you like in the menu. No need to save, just close the program and open Petz 5. Updated Rehosting Policy[/title] |

I haven't made Petz 5 in a long time, but back in 2007 I experimented with hexing and made a few dinosaurs. Some turned out alright, but they were HUGE, and many had animation issues, particularly the brachiosaurus; its neck appeared to be on a hinge. ![[nlaugh]](/images/smilies/emot_laugh.gif "[nlaugh]") |

I'm thinking of creating a forum with ProBoards for us. Basically, it will allow us to talk a lot more about Petz without cluttering up the Strangeo board! I'd like to preserve most of the Creatures Caves rules, so that it will exist in a similar environment with no inappropriate topics and whatnot. The one catch is that to be a member there, you must first be a member of Creatures Caves. I know that limits the membership, but the whole idea behind it is to bring together those of us over here who enjoy Petz. Any thoughts? I can likely have that up and running within the next week or two, thereby opening up a new place where discussions will be easier. Shows and adoptions will likely be easier, too! |

I'd be down for that. It'd encourage those of us who are part of the PC already to branch out to other communities and encourage people to participate here and play the Creatures games. That works for me, I don't mind a smaller community at all. That actually makes me feel more comfortable, not so lost in the crowd like I normally am on the bigger petz sites. |

The forum might have a small fanbase, but one big plus will be that we'll all know one another! We also get along very well, so that should create a pretty fun and safe environment. Still working things out, but things should be ready within a week(ish)! I decided to start a Scottie breeding project. It was all planned out: I had the names ready for all of the dogz, and I would make it to the fifth generation. Then I took out a little male from the adoption center and played with him for a minute. Which then turned into a whole lot of minutes, thereby making me decide to simply keep one Scottie for the time being! Meet Auchintyre!  Cutest little fellow ever! He is obsessed with toys, and does back flips to catch everything. Yet he also calmed down enough to pose with his little plush toy. Maybe all Scotties are like this, but I adore him! He ran around like a maniac forever. His eyelids were all droopy, but he was still up for catching a frisbee! Then, the inevitable...  I think I'm playing this game the natural way for a bit, with no aging... And possibly just Auchintyre! There's nothing wrong with PetzA, but I got to the point where all I was doing was breeding and deleting 99% of everyone. Time to go back to the basics! |

Since this topic's seeing some life again, I might as well detail what's going in my Petz 4 right now. So far, I've only installed one third party addon: a playscene. I don't even have PetzA installed, and I'm not certain if I ever will. I have 2 Catz (O'Malley the Alley Cat and Mal Mal the Siamese), 2 Dogz (Betty the Poodle and Ratigan the Chihuahua), and 1 Pig (Ganonpork). Of those, O'Malley is surprisingly the most laid back of them. He gets along with practically everyone, including Ganonpork (who everyone else seems to hate). He's currently wearing a fine top hat, which he also really liked (he started dancing when I put it on him). Mal Mal is his to-be bride. She likes pouncing on him a lot, but otherwise the two seem to get along just fine. Mal Mal is actually a pretty active hunter - she tends to like stalking anything that moves. Haven't played enough with Betty or Ratigan to completely judge their personalities, but they both seem to be even tempered dogs. Ganonpork is an Orange Shorthair in a pig's hide - he's really, really cowardly. The other most notable thing about him is that nearly no one likes him. So far, O'Malley is the only one who seems to get along with him (unfortunately, I don't think Ganonpork feels the same way about him). Finally, here's a funny story. I had O'Malley and Mal Mal out at the South Seas Island, and Peg the Tabby host was also there. Peg took a liking to both of them, and picked up the habit of picking up toys and dropping them off near O'Malley and Mal Mal. It was really cute to watch. Another update from my Petz 4. Unfortunately, I returned Ganonpork. It's a shame, but next to no one liked him, and he hated the one who did. In his stead, I adopted a new pair of pets: Sally the Chinchilla Persian and Sam the bulldog (both girls). I was only going to adopt Sally, but then the bulldog came out and the two hit it off practically right off the bat. Other things I've found: catnip and love spray are completely and utterly hilarious when combined. At one point, I had Mal Mal and O'Malley out at the Snow Scene, while Mitzy was also present. At the time, I had a bottle of love spray with me so that I could test it out on the hosts. At one point, Mitzy gave O'Malley a death glare, and then picked up the bottle of love spray and used it on O'Malley. What a way to show your dislike. The fact that O'Malley sneezed in such a manner that he backed up twice afterwards just sealed the whole deal. Where does catnip fit in to all this? While the above was going on, Mal Mal was munching away at the catnip to expected results. It was completely unrelated, but really funny to watch. One final tidbit for the day: Apparently, Sally and Ringmaster Bailey like dancing to this music. Edit: And as it turns out, I was completely wrong about Sam liking Sally. The latter dislikes the former...actually, the latter is turning out to be much like Ganonpork in terms of her relationships to other Petz. Not even O'Malley liked her. That could work, Mea! There's also the possibility of going in the opposite direction and making toys for Petz based on Creatures-related stuff! I'm going to move this over to the Petz forum and disable updates, just so it's a more uniform discussion and easier to locate! |
