i don't know about the every few days thing i've always thought it was you can't socialise with a norn twice in a row so i just socialise with the potential partner, socialise with another friend and then back to the potential partner |

I think the issue is the social meter going down once a day. Combined with the inability to socialize twice in a row, in effect you're limited to once every two days. |

I don't know, honestly. |

It does go down twice a day. I'd say that they're approximately 12 hours apart. I've been trying to time that but that is way more difficult than timing egg hatching. ![[nlaugh] [nlaugh]](/images/smilies/emot_laugh.gif)

Well, I tried socializing her with someone else, but it's still not letting me socialize with Obsideon

Gifts can now be sent every 12 hours instead of every 24 hours.

KC11: I hope it wasn't anything on my end that messed it up :/ I've been really busy with my new job lately and have hardly had time to get on here. I knew some people were asking about mating with Obsidian then I got a breeding request from Deepika and just went with it. I'm really, really sorry |

Stygian is now an old man, and I'm waiting to see if one of his grandchildren might become available for adoption once he's passed.

Ditto to that. I'll update the earlier linked Grendelchi and Nornchi family trees later today (I think the Ettinchi needs updating too?) but I've had some busy days lately, so, they're not quite as frequently updated as I hoped but I know I'll get on 'em tonight

Those family trees are AWESOME! I love them; keep them coming. ^^
Perhaps there should be a feature to have a creatchi's family tree drawn up automatically, but that, I guess, would require an extensive lot of coding. So your contributions are most, most welcome, Karias! |

Yeah and I think we've mentioned that as a suggestion before, being able to pull up family trees that work automatically via a code. Would be neat.
Nornchi, Grendelchi, and Ettinchi trees are updated btw

And just as you have updated those, Hades, son of Pirahna and Grotbags, is eagerly starting to hatch. |

The trees look more like webs to me! Hehe. Webs spun by spiders with too much time on their hands.

It's a shame there is only one male Nornchi that is single and able to breed.

Also, if you're hatching one right now, feel free to call her Persephone, and I'll almost guarantee I'll keep Hades available for breeding with her. |

It seems to be a bit of a slippery slope. It started when I accidentally forgot my creatchi for two days. I fed her when I cam back, but ran out of supplies and didn't feel motivated to get more.
I think after this one I'll be taking a shortbreak from creatchi ownership.

If you ever feel the need for supplies, just ask. I've always got some available.

I've been struggling a bit with both Moogson and Thaw because my life has been busier... but I still want to keep participating in the Stalactite family tree. I will try harder to post to keep my grendelchis healthy!
I must say, a big thank you goes to HavenHoney for helping me keep Thaw afloat on my busy days with gifts. Thaw was a very lucky young lady to marry Fig!

Better to track family lines, who is with me on this new Creatchi project?
Male offspring track their male lines back to their generation 1 male ancestor - males in the line only.
Female offspring track their female lines back to their generation 1 female ancestor - females in the line only.
And then, assume that name as a surname, which will then continue on down their lines, inherited to children of the same gender.
That would mean Hades' surname would be Silverspike, because Hades' father was Piranha, whose father was George, son of Grom, son of Silverspike.
Hades is then Hades Silverspike.
My previous Grendelchi was Stygian, son of Styx. Styx was generation 1, so Stygian would be Stygian Styx.
Hades' mother Grotbags was Tera's daughter, who was Gretchen's daughter. Ergo, Grotbags Gretchen.
Alternatively, you could add an "of". Hades of Silverspike, and Grotbags of Gretchen.
But why bother with this? One thing would be to honour one's creatchi's ancestry and also those who cared for that ancestry. Also it would add a house/family/clan aspect to the game. And it would be fun. Nerdy fun, yes, but still...

oh gods its like game of thrones xD when me and darby married Thimble and Azura together i was so tempted to say "well the Targaryen's have been marrying into their family of hundreds of years"
so Azura would be Azura damsel or Azura of the Damsel |

i'd love to raise multiple creatchi's at once but i don't post enough to be able to have a hoard of items for them |

Bifrost

If the naming field gets expanded to allow for this, I'm going for it.
Then I'd not only consider the appearance of my creatchis' mates, but also their names.
Also, one would risk losing one's family name, should one not get male offspring of one's male creatchi or female offspring from one's female creatchi. On the other hand, some chreatchi clan names might spread quite a lot. Would be interesting to see. |

I went for a similar type of idea when I adopted Moog's son, Moogson.
It might be interesting to make a clan/heritage style family tree using your idea - I'd love to see how it looks!

I'd love to adopt a new creatchi now, but I'm going to be without computer access for a bit over a week starting next Friday- I don't think they'd make it that long. |
