My dogs went to the vet for their annual checkup the other day, and they are very healthy for their age.

That is good news, Malkin. How old are they?
I think my house if the image in the "doggie dictionary" under Retirement Home. I have had three separate dogs that have lived into their 20's.
Ray of Sunshine... I can finally feel a small bit of the daily job stress fading away...

They're almost 16. Just got to keep playing with them, keep them active, and look after their teeth.

I'm actually a little surprised. The 1 year birthday of my Creatures blog is coming up soon. That's something for me to be proud of, I think.

This is geeky, but made me laugh so much - Soft Cell's version of Tainted Love played on 13 floppy disks and 1 hard disk. If anyone asks you what use floppy disk drives are these days, show them this... |

I am finally making enough money that I can begin saving up to get married!!
As soon as I save up at least $5,000 and his parents move from their current house into their new one, my partner and I can afford to have a proper wedding. UwU <3
(It will be only 5,000 or so because the wedding ceremony will be at my parents' house - it will be a traditional Cambodian wedding to make his parents happy. We will only have to pay venue costs for the reception afterwards, which will be traditional European style for my family, and beyond that the expenses for the dress, suit, etc.)
At this rate, I should have 5,000 dollars in just about six months. ^w^ so, as long as his parents are moved out within the next half a year, that will be a possibility for us!
We aren't formally engaged or anything, but we've been talking openly and excitedly about this for a long, long time now, so i'm really happy about this new possibility. ^^

Congratulations! Sounds like all is going really, really well for you and I hope you reach your savings goal very soon! So glad to hear you're having such a nice time with everything!
No extremely sunshiney news for me, although I'm in a very happy place! I finished up a two month writing class this past week, just to see if I actually like it (and what other people think). I got a lot of positive feedback and people who are hoping I define a project and actually write something more than just a page. Hurray for that!

Finally got a Chicken coop, computer is running again, healthy for now, sleeping well, getting back on top of my homework, everything is looking up! I seem to have moved out of the winter of my discontent.

Thank you Jessica, that's very sweet of you to say!
And that experience you had with your class sounds like a really nice ego boost! You should follow their words and try writing something for fun, see how it turns out.

Wow, Chocosaurus! First landing your dream job, and now this! How fantastic that your income's improved enough to let you have this opportunity, and even more so that you and your partner have been looking into it. I wish you all the very best, and my congratulations when the happy event arrives!
I might as well chip in. After nearly a month of feeling low and missing my boyfriend like crazy, I'm finally on the up! It's my birthday tomorrow, and this year I actually have a reason to celebrate; I'm back with my boyfriend's family and I'm enjoying it so much. This place is like a second home to me, and I can't think of a nicer group of people to spend my birthday with. Usually I end up feeling bored and lonely, but that won't be the case this year! I know I'm going to be thoroughly spoilt this week. |

Thanks, HavenHoney! And congratulations again. From what I can tell, everyone's really enjoying the Hot Puddings; I know my Norns are! You'll be planning your next agent soon. Once you start familiarising yourself with CAOS and develop more and more successfully, it gets harder to stop! |

I went to see a specialist yesterday - the appointment went on for two hours and it seems like we've got a few places we can go from here.

I'm going to start focusing more on learning more languages. I think it'll satisfy my need to express my feelings, and it opens up the possibility that I'll be able to do good for more people. The mental stimulation will be a welcome distraction, too.
I should focus on Spanish, but I'm tempted to learn German first. |

I just learned that one of my best friends is having a baby boy and he's due in December. I've already started on their gifts. Mostly impractical things like booties and dolls but still.

I married the best man for me. That's something to be happy about. After this last year of trying to lose weight and get into shape, I realize that my health is more important to him than how I look on his arm. There's a lot of value in that for me.

I bought some HORI brand screen protectors for my battle-scared Nintendo 3DS XL (okay, a slight exaggeration), and now the scratches are pretty much invisible! Even though I went into a gaming store today, and got teased when I asked them to put them on for me, it's still cheered me up no end.
Screen protectors, people. They save the world... And now I can play Animal Crossing again without cringing. |

Spending time with one of my dearest friends has cheered me right up. However, there is an exchange: I am cheery, but tired, because I have not slept a whole lot.
She and I both program way too much, when left unattended for any length of time. ![[ngeek] [ngeek]](/images/smilies/emot_geek.gif) |

Here's kind of a silly one.
I've been struggling with reaching things since my taller-than-me husband went on deployment.
Today, tucked away into a corner of the garage, I found my kitchen ladder! Cooking spices, watch out!

My GF specifically puts things high up so I have trouble reaching them.
Tomorrow's our anniversary. We're going to the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden and Bird Sanctuary (no admission fees, you only have to pay for parking so yay), then we're going to watch a movie late at night. The garden is the oldest public native plant garden in the United States, and spans 15 acres. |

Today, GF told me about her first cut at work and the fun she and a co-worker had comparing workplace injuries. They weren't glorifying their scars and we all understand that unnecessarily unsafe working conditions suck. But, how we all managed to laugh, you know, in spite of everything... Highlight of my day. |

GF's coworker, who's into boxing, gave her advice on managing trigger finger. I've been giving her transverse friction massages, it seems to have helped a lot. |

On top of finally taking care of that stupid car today, I got groceries and made ramen. Delicious bacon ramen. Also, today is supposed to be the coolest this week, so I'm enjoying the relative cool before the predicted 100+ temps predicted for later in the week.
