We've all been talking about Creatchi but it can be difficult following along with so many comments and bibbles. I thought it would be a good idea to have a central place for Creatchi information and discussion so here we are! You can find up-to-date information below. [nsmile]

---
Creatchi News!
27 May 13 - Creatchis may now have two children with their spouses!
19 May 13 - The first Generation 3 creatchi has hatched!
19 May 13 - Creatchi owners can now aid starving creatchis with Creatchi Care! Read this news article for more information!
13 May 13 - The creatchi graveyard has been updated and creatchis raised successfully until passing away of old age will now be awarded a gold ribbon.
10 May 13 - Creatchis from Generation 2 and beyond can now only be adopted by a forums user who successfully raises a Generation 1 creatchi first.

---
Item Tips!
- There are six items to find - apples, balls, cheese, teddies, medicine and elixirs.
- Elixirs improve the overall status of a creatchi.
- Items can be found randomly with regular forums activity. Have you posted replies, comments or bibbles lately?
- Some items may only be found by contributing to the site. Have you thought about posting new threads on the forum, uploading Creature Link adoptions or adding new downloads to the site? You could also try submitting artwork to the gallery or posting news.
- Do you have lots of items and a generous heart? The Creatchi Supplies Thread could use you!

---

To get the discussion ball rolling, which creatchis are your favourites so far and why? No voting for your own! [ngrin]

My favorite besides Grentilda? Probably Starbuck. XD I'm super biased, though. When I want to spoil my diet, I get Starbucks.

I don't have a single favorite Creatchi (since they all look mostly the same right now apart from color, hairstyle, and species). However, I do like most of the Grendelchis (being the Grendel nut I am), and Fyre in particular.

Carla (my Creatchi) is also looking for a mate. If nothing else, she could use a fellow norn to get it into her head that she's not a grendel.

Yes, it's funny how Kocchi is owned by a gal and Starbuck by a guy.

I don't know if Panda-mist is around much, but if you're reading this, your nornchi Leon is my only option for a mate for Namwahi, so, just lettin' ya know, I'm looking to bump their friendship status. :D Leon isn't old enough yet, but give him a few hours.

Okay, I've updated the first post and have gender-swapped poor Starbuck and Kocchi back to what they should be. [nlaugh]

As far as favourite creatchis go, I think mine might be Beowulf. He's just such a quirky, fun norn! I hope he succeeds in his quest. [nsmile]

As Jessica said, the owners have added their own bits of personality to their creatchis and that is what makes each of them different. :)

Hmmmn... A favorite Creatchi. Well, deciding that one is difficult since I like them all! Its very hard to resist to trying to give them a friendly scritch through the monitor with the tip of my finger. [nlaugh]

If I have to really narrow it down... Sandra, Kermit McGreeny, and Stalactite would be in the top few. How else could Dusty get away from the popular life long enough to stumble upon a mate? What Creatchi wouldn't want to play Mr. Popular for a day! xD

You know, suggestion time.

But first, my thoughts on the current creatchi situation.

It's kind of depressing to see a gaggle of sick and dieing creatchis.

Yes, I know, they are only little bits of data sitting on the server hard drive, but we give these little guys names, personalities, care for them... heck, even without AI they are just as good as our creatures in game. I know of at least one forumite on a hoarding binge for food and toys. The creatchis have given us a new reason to be active forum members. So thank you Rascii.

But back to the sick and dieing. 100% of this is due to negelct at this time. I'm not really irritated at those who have adoptedd and then seemingly abandoned their creatchis because I know how forum hopping is. There's one you visit once a week, just to stay on top of things, and likely, these members are doing just that. I doubt purposeful neglect even crossed their minds.

And yet for those of us who do visit the forum daily, it's not fun to watch a newborn Nornchi starve. Therefore I propose this.

I'd like for there to be a way to readopt a neglected creatchi. Yes, I know death is a part of the game, however, I don't really think death by neglect is a good thing. Perhaps the neglected creatchi could be stored away in the state it was in when it was taken from a neglectful owner, and the next person would have the task of nursing it back to health. Perhaps if too much time passes without it being adopted, it could pass away quietly.

Please consider this request.

I second TheSecond's suggestion, though I'm not entirely sure how to implement that. It seems like it would be unfair to the user to have their creature taken away if they had to limit their activity due to school, work, etc, but it's also unfair to the creatchis and the people who put work into breeding their creatchis to see so many of them die.

Kind of a fine line here.

Edit: Maybe members could feed and play with other peoples' Creatchis? To make it more fair, you could limit interactions to something like, 1 interaction from any person per day. Maybe limit users to 1 interaction per day with any Creatchi that doesn't belong to them. This doesn't get things so out of hand and if the owner isn't active anyway, their creature won't breed.

It's a theory though I imagine it would be pretty tedious to code.

I have an idea! Maybe there could be an option to put your Creatchi to bed, like storing them in a sort of stasis until they have time to care for them? That way, if for example you were going camping or something and had no internet access, you could send your Creatchi to sleep and wake him up when you get back.

Maybe it could work? [nblush]

( to TheSecond's idea) The thing is, I'd assume only one without a Creatchi could adopt neglected ones, and already with babies on the way, there's a big supply and not enough demand for Creatchis. I think first thing on the list, in my opinion, is what I suggested to Rascii a little while ago on putting more advertisements, banners, or notifications out there so new members or members unaware of the Creatchi experience can get in. Because honestly, if I returned today instead of just over a week ago, I probably wouldn't have noticed this Creatchi thing was still open for new owners, nor that it requires daily care. But if I did know because of banners, notifications, or similar - I'd jump on it. :)

But yes, beyond that, if it wasn't too complicated, - Being able to take possession of a dearly neglected Creatchi would be neat. You know, like SS taking your kids away. :D

I wasn't going to go there, but looks like Karias did it for me.

And on the topic of not being fair to take a creatchi away from an owner not able to log in every day: Perhaps a babysitting option? Or as Kezune proposes, a way to feed a and play with a creatchi that hasn't had it's owner around in a day or two? I know that, if I were going to be unable to visit the site in for a couple of days, I would want someone to look after Beowulf for me. It wold be sad to come back and find the little guy sick and starving.

But, obviously more discussion is needed.

Most likely yes. But I doubt that they would be denied the option to readopt their creatchi if they promised to take better care of it in the future.

I'm with Kezune, limited interactions with other Creatchis seems like a decent idea. Maybe some kind of system that allows other users to help out in emergency (near death) situations?

I just want to feed the poor little guys. D:

(replying to TheSecond) Exactly, now, it would probably be a pretty complex thing to write, but, I think it might satisfy all a little more if the original owner had either an automatic choice of a second chance or had to prove themselves somehow for a second chance.

This whole conversation is reminding me of another idea I had: There's going to be the occasional incident where someone who doesn't want a creatchi (shock horror!) accidentally adopts one (in fact, that's how I wound up with Carla - I clicked on an egg to see if we got any options and adopted it instead. I originally intended to just sit it out). In this situation, perhaps there could be an option to put the creatchi back up for adoption in case the owner doesn't want it/can't take care of it anymore?

For that matter, there probably should be a confirmation screen of some sort before adopting an egg to make accidental adoptions less likely.

I'd rather a confirmation screen. Putting it back out for adoption is a bit too careless of an option.

Another idea:

I haven't played Pokemon in years, yet it inspires me now.

A creatchi sanctuary. A place where owners could let their cheatchis hang out if their going to be gone for a few days, and when they cone back, can pick them up from the sanctuary. Any creatchis that seemed neglected could be sent to the sanctuary automatically, and then picked up by the owner when they come back, or is too much time passes with no activity from the owner, they could be put up for adoption.

Maybe so, but it's preferable to letting an unwanted Creatchi die (which, at the moment, is the only way to get rid of one). It's most definitely preferable to watching a creatchi die because it wasn't the species the adopter wanted (a scenario which, if it hasn't already happened, is likely to come up at some point).

Edit: Or we can go with the option TheSecond just ninja'd me with. I like the sound of that.
