Sammy and Susan C3DS Norn Dragoler | 10/16/2015 | 2 | Sammy and Susan are a test pair of True Warmblooded creatures, built upon the CFF ChiChi genome.
These creatures have a real internal body temperature (represented by chemical 110) which they must regulate.
They will gain adipose tissue faster when cold, which helps to insulate them but they can also die from heart disease if they gain too much weight. This should only become a problem at the later stages of their lives, but it helps to exercise them to keep the fat down (say "left" or "right" and get them to walk it off!).
They will also lose body-heat in water and can become hypothermic if left there too long.
Due to the nature of these changes these creatures are unlikely to breed well with others, however I am considering converting other breeds if this idea gains interest. |

Very cool! (err... warm?)
I really like the idea and I'm definitely going to be playing with them. Also, if you are interested in avoiding chemical conflicts with other breeds in case people DO splice or cross or them, there is a cool list of all used chemicals that includes all known chemicals used in custom breeds. The list is up to date except for the CFF chemicals 37 (lactate dehydrogenase), 61 (lactic acid), and 130 (tryptamine).
I kind of wish I could do something like this as part of CFF directly, I love realistic things in their biochemistry, but the heart disease gene is just a little too unfriendly to other genomes, and I'd have a hard time rationalizing these other improvements as actual fixes to anything that was non-functional or broken in C3, since creatures were always basically cold-blooded, and the necessary genetics probably wouldn't play nice if they are only partially inherited.
