Cookie Ettins C3DS Gobbo | 3/24/2026 | 7 |
| slot | Ettin-E | | type | Genetics + Sprites | | author | Gobbo | | updated | 3/25/2026 | | website | [view] | These are the Cookie Ettins. They are based upon an old concept from creatures labs, but created with geneforge and digitally drawed textures. They are obsessed with food and dispensers. They have instincts to use portals. Their looks are distinct for males and females.
Made in geneforge. |

So far, their boredom seems to get down a bit when pushing dispensers and they do so very instinctively (and are hard to distract from those vendors ). They also grab food when bored, but when I ask if they're bored, they always say ''me extremely bored'' instead of ''quite'' or ''very'', which means it doesn't seem to do much to drop their boredom.
I wonder if an action like ''grab'' has effect only once when they perform the action or the whole time they're holding the object. So I thought maybe the boredom doesn't drop from that because they don't hold the food long enough before they eat it? So I modified the instinct gene to grab food when bored to have them eat it instead, thinking it's gonna make them drop the boredom drive by eating. It didn't work. (I cannot really tell you why, I don't know anything about modding or genomes. I know just enough to be able to find stimulus genes to get a clue how to meet their needs when trying a new breed.)
However, during my trials witht them, I noticed the boredom drive would drop significantly when pushing a toy. But they wouldn't do so most of the time when asked, focusing on the vendors and the food instead. So I brought my Cookie Ettin to the Infirmary to isolate it and petted it everytime it hit the ball, then brought it back to the Main Room in the Lone Shee Ark. I repeated that a couple times and now it most of the time plays with toys when ordered to do so to help with boredom.

I'm enjoying them so far. They're always bored though. If I'm following, they get their boredom down by eating and pushing dispensers?

Ill remove it from the description then. Haha, it seems I bungle something every step of the way doesnt it?

While the description says they're based on the 2017 genome, it seems to me they're actually based on the vanilla ettin genome (or at least this version is).
