Can DS mess with your computer? | |

This might seem an odd question, but please hear me out. This morning, I installed Docking Station for the very first time, along with the Offline Patch (both of these I downloaded from creaturesdockingstation.com). I tested the game out, and it worked fine. Hatched a couple of cute little Norns and such. It seemed to connect to C3 enough to let me hatch the Bruin, Bengal, and Civet breeds. So far so good.
After I'd finished playing, I decided to check some emails, but the browser suddenly slowed down. I thought it might've been a glitch, so I switched off my laptop and left it for an hour or so while I had my dinner.
Switching it back on this afternoon, all of my browsers were still being slow. By this, I mean that they spend a long time 'Looking up (url)' or 'Read (url)' before loading the pages (feels like the old dial-up days, but worse). A virus check came up negative, so no issues there, as far as I know. They were working fine this morning before I installed DS. The only alteration to the laptop between the browsers working fine and then being slow is DS's installation and quick testing.
Is it at all possible that DS could've interfered with the connection somehow? A few extra notes: This is for a laptop running Windows 8, and all other devices connected to the same Wifi router work fine (I'm posting this on one of the other devices).

That seems pretty unlikely to me, though I suppose I can't rule it out. My computer is always slow and my computer always has Docking Station installed, after all. xD Have you tried uninstalling Docking Station (remember to backup your world files!) and seeing if the problem goes away?

Not yet, but it's on the 'try' list if this doesn't clear up any other way.

Apologies for the double-post, but I have an update. I uninstalled Docking Station this morning and, wouldn't you know it, the slow connection problem seems to have disappeared. So it seems DS was interfering with the Internet connection somehow, as I feared.
So the question now is if it can be used without interfering with the connection. Kinda bummed, really, but I still have C3.

Did you try the connection before uninstalling? |

I did, just to be sure the problem didn't suddenly fix itself. It was still slow. It returned to normal after I uninstalled DS and restarted the laptop.

You didn't run it via InstallBlast, did you? |

Not as far as I know. I used the 'engine.exe' file.
