Hey all! I just got C3 for my shiny new Macbook -- but when I export norns in the C3 game, they don't show up to be imported into my DS game, even though I have set the world to be dockable with C3...
what do I do?

Move the exports to the DS game export/import folder.
Not really active around these parts anymore. |

I can't find the fies! they are not in the "My Creatures" folder -- where would they be?

...that's where they should be...
Try exporting another norn, then look in the folder. Is it there?

No - I've exported a bunch, too - it's so weird! Thanks for trying to help... any other ideas? They're there just fine to re-import into C3, but not in the My Creatures folder... |

The installation process on a Mac is slightly different to that on Windows - Installing Addons for the Mac OS X should tell you all about how to install addons in general.
For creatures themselves.... Basically, in your Username/Library/Preferences folder, there is a folder called "Creature Labs" or similar. Inside that folder are two folders, one for C3 and one for DS. Inside the C3 and DS folders, there are folders called "My Creatures". In order to import C3 norns into DS, you will need to transfer the .creature files from the C3 "My Creatures" to the DS "My Creatures".
Now, if you have opened the Docking Station or Creatures 3 application itself by control-clicking and "Show Package Contents", you will see another pair of "My Creatures" folders. These folders do nothing.

Oh -- thank you so much -- I will check that out when I get back to my computer. One more question -- do you know how I can install "update 2" on the Mac? I can't find anywhere to download it where it's not an .exe file...

Because Creatures Exodus for Macs is relatively recent compared to the release of C3 itself, I'm pretty sure update 2 is already incorporated in the software.

Awesome -- thanks so much for your help Malkin, this site is wonderful, I'm so glad I came across it.
It seems a bit lame that the game doesn't do that transfer itself, though!
