Need Help With C1 Genetics

I just had a norn born in my breeding line that has a really confusing genetic difference from her fore-bearers. My super-norns generally have 5-8 brain lobes and 500+ or so genes. My newest female, Amber, has 14 brain lobes and 1050 genes. What does that mean, exactly??

Update: Her daughter, jennifer, has 1570 genes and 17 brain lobes. Also, half of Ambers eggs make creatures crash when I try to get them to hatch, which really worries me. Are the babies inside so complex that creatures can't handle them??

Whoa...

...

That's cool. :D Exactly what it means, I'm not sure, but I think it may be that you're Norns are starting to advance (some people use the term "evolve" ). After enough generations, there can be huge genetic differences between a Norn's parents and themselves. Eventually, it may lead to evolution in the species, of which very few successfully accomplished. :) (What generation was Amber, if you don't mind me asking?)

Yay. *Happy that Hawk has boosted ego*
That's exactly what I'm after. I've been trying for weeks to think of a new name for my new species of norns. I think I should hold a contest in the forum to name my species. Whatdya think hawk?

Hmm...

Well, the term "Norn," "Grendel," and "Ettin" were named after fantasy creatures. Norns were the three fictional ladies that sat under a tree and spun the strands of life for humans. The Grendel in Beowulf was an evil, scaly creature that looks much like the Grendels in the Creatures games. The Ettin was a three-headed monster with two pairs of arms.

Maybe you should read ancient literature to come up with a name for the evolved form of Norn? Mythical creatures can have some really cool names for new species of *real* virtual creatures. ;)
