I have an itch to get back into PHP and MySQL coding, so I've decided to do some more updating around the website.
Is there anything in particular that everyone thinks should be revamped? Or anything new that would be nice to have? Let me know if you can think of anything!

Some traffic. Oh holy Rascii, give us traffic! We will sacrifice... Goats... For it.
Personally I think it's fine, although something new would be nice.. I think the webcam spot is throwing people off, and perhaps the Downloads section or Adoptions section looks a wee bit old. Don't ask what needs to be changed, but, it seems old or something.
But REALLY? Traffic - Then we can spice this place up with loads of new cool features, pages, etc.. Oh my do I miss the old days when you had a real todo list.. honestly that was nicer than none.

I really think that the profiles page needs to be updated but I'm not sure how to do it. Maybe sorting the information into groups or something.

I would love a new Webcam. Then we can watch Norns! |

Another Survivor would be fun... Maybe modernise the forum software a bit - like make it easier to post links to websites in the forums with a little popup prompt for urls or something.
Quite a few of the pages need updating - The Aquatilis page needs updating with a link to the V2 release on the CCSF site, the toy patches (which are still used in V2 - or perhaps CC.com could host these files rather than just linking to the freewebs page) and Moe's AC plant patch.
You could also please check all the links to download stuff in the Metarooms page.

Rascii, you're back!
As a comment for the new profile pages, I'd suggest considering putting the buddy list in some kind of table rather than a vertical list. Would make the profiles of people with lots of buddies look a little less silly. Maybe three or four to a row?

...how about the gallery? I have a whole list of stuff that would be nice in the mods forum.
oh also - how about we revamp the approval system - with a checklist. its such a PIA to have to go back and forth to approve multiple things at once (and people tend to make comments on several art pieces at once, its rarely just one approval). Really, approve something yourself and see what a hassle it is.
Yes, I'm the forum ... Any questions?

Yeah it's on the mods-forum to do list, but low because only a handful of people can even see the pages. But I'll get there!
And as for the galleries, I already implemented some of your ideas. More to come.

Another thing could be to fix the forum pages so that when you go to go to an earlier page of the forums (ie. page 4 of strangeo) that it's not a mishmash of topics from 2006, 2007 and 2008. Maybe make it so that we can upload website buttons on to this site when we link out?

The topics should be in order of when the most recent reply was added to them. So page four of Strangeo may have different years based on when the last reply was posted. If that's not the case, however, let me know and I'll look into it.
And since people usually post links to their own websites, I figure they probably have a button already uploaded there.

Sometimes topics are in more than one page, though, and that's surely not right. Clicking through the pages of Strangeo can be quite... strange...

uhhh yeah the number page function thing has been screwed up for ages. Its pretty much impossible to find an old topic.

There is a 'search' feature...

says the person who can't remember the "geography game" and starts a "city game"... who remembers topic titles? The page thing is useful for those occasions when you don't remember the topic title until you see it.
besides, if the pages don't work how do we know that we can trust that search function, huh? Huh?

I think they do work, there are just repeated topics on each page from the previous page.
And the search feature is completely separate from the next links.

Aw c'mon, angel, relax. That's a standard software developer answer. Another is, "works for me." Any software developer worth his salt uses those two very often!

I like the new profile beta, it looks more organized compared to the old ones where every thing's piled into one box. |

How about an option to search for all the posts made by a certain person in the search box? Like I could type in "KC11" in the "Search Username" box and find all the horrible old stuff I used to consider cool to post.

Are you really sure you want that? Now that we have the Charles the Cheese image file from AquaShee's CAOS chaos (thanks to clohse!) could we possibly resurrect the tutorials from the depths of archive.org and give them a specific page on CC.com? AquaShee did give permission for all his "stuff" in the topic, even if the title said specifically Albian Oceans... Albian Ocean's Content

If you find the information I'll gladly create a page for it.
I like that idea, KC11. I'll look into it.

Well, just a suggestion, a good idea I think would be to add a feedback page to each of the ask Laura questions for us to give feedback, of course.
Not really active around these parts anymore. |

It could work with a "Comments (x)" link at the bottom of each response (like the Galleries), but then I'm wondering if there's any need. If people have anything to say about what I've written they can always PM me. |
