General Forum Gallery Cleaning!    angel51431        9/3/2007 okay peoples, so long as I'm in management mode, I'm going to tackle another thing that's been bothering me. that is - the messy Gallery. There are a ton of images that are just tooooooo big. By too big I mean that when i click on it, I can only see a tiny corner of the image and the rest is cut off. We have to remember that there are no scroll bars when the picture is shown, so there is no way that the rest of it can be seen. "paste it into paint or some other image editing program and resize it there" - NOT acceptable. It is the job of the artist to make the image comfortable viewable to the audience, not the job of the audience to find ways to see an image of an artist that does not care. so. As of later tonight, all images submitted in 2007 in the Fan Art section (gallery pages 1-4) will be combed through. And the ones that are too big to view will be deleted. I don't mean images that are a little long and the bottom or side is slightly cut off. I mean ones where i can only see a tiny bit of the picture. all submitted pictures must fit on a 1024*768 pixel screen in their full size to be submitted. Its alright if a bit is cut off but the majority of the image must be viewable. I will post a list of deleted works and who the artists are on this thread. Please take note and resubmit the pictures at a more comfortable size. If you know that this applies to you, then start working now. This particularly applies to many pictures submitted by EvilSpirit - please resize pictures after scanning. Yes, I'm the forum ... Any questions? However for now, its postponed. Mostly because the site died on the day i planned to do this, and since then school has started and i got another dog and I've been up to my neck in stuff to do. And no one told me that the site came back, i had to accidentally discover it myself... So give me another day or two. Scrollbars could help. I have a lot of ideas on how to make the gallery more user-friendly. but that's for a different thread. oh. and I'm only talking about the Fan Art gallery, Moe. Yes, I'm the forum ... Any questions? Once again, going through all images in the Fan Art gallery submitted in 2007. The following pictures are too large and have been deleted: "Hawksight and I" by EvilSpirit "The Classic Wallbonk" by LadyHollow "What makes flecs green" by awmanman actually that's all. I'm going to be lenient toward a few images that cut off at corners. The images above are *huuuuge* and i can only see the upper left tip of them. So please resize and resubmit! Its not because we don't like these pictures, its because they are just too uncomfortable to view. thank yous. Keep your uploaded images small, children! Yes, I'm the forum ... Any questions? Check my deviant art site for the start of my creatures fan fiction.   angel51431     10/4/2007 shrinking most pictures won't mess up the detail. Unless you shrink they to absolutely tiny. But I'm not asking for tiny, I'm asking for an image big enough to fill a 1024*768 screen at most - not that small. Besides, even with scrollbars if the image is that huge you really won't be able to see it very well. Yes, I'm the forum ... Any questions? Rascii: You make my life difficult, angel.
