What sort of funny things do your norns say? Weather it is humorus funny or strange, >.>, funny, post them here! In C2, one of my norns said "Fat norn" while he was with another norn. The other norn got a little mad and left. XD And once, in Eydnn, I had quadruplites. One day, one of them said "I am being hit by Tema" when being hit by a norn named Tema! o.O Do not upset the ugly worm, lest it be a dragon in disguise. (>oo)> |

I think the norn said 'fat norn' because sometimes norns don't learn the word eat frst-time round and say fat instead. The wierd thing is that the other norn was offended!  |

My favorite funny norn saying is also my favorite refutation of people's exhortations about "stupid norns." One day a young female norn in one of my worlds was sitting in a room by herself expressing about how friendly she was. Suddenly a nearby door opened, a friendly young male norn walked thru it, and they proceeded to kiss-pop the giggles out of each other for quite a long time, to their mutual enjoyment. Thereafter, whenever this particular norn heard another norn expressing friendly, she'd happily advise "Suggest you watch door!"  |

I think that norn that was part of the quadruplits was the smartest norn I ever got. Although the only full sentence she could say was "I am being hit by...." Sadly, she and her siblings died early due to the fact that they had a mutation which made them unable to breathe on their own.  .I used the Toomstone agent on them many times, to make them alive again. I tried putting them in the water, just in case they only breathed water. What I found was that they always needed a little water and a little extra air. But one day, my Eydnn crashed on me, and I never saw that norn again. .Do not upset the ugly worm, lest it be a dragon in disguise. (>oo)> |

EvilHyperThingy You don't have to "make" norns refer to the hand as hand. It's part of their vocabulary lessons. However, they will refer to you, personally, as whatever is listed as your name on the options panel. Your user name is always the default listing, and unless you change it, that's what they call the hand. Moving on now from the unlikely to the impossible... 1) 88 words or so (+ personal names of other creatures) is the maximum possible size of the norn vocabulary, as the game engine is currently configured. "Happened" is not on the list. 2) Everything is "now" to a norn. They don't use past or future tenses of verbs. It's not possible. 3)Norns don't ask questions. There are funny things a-plenty that real norns actually do say in the game. You should play it sometime, EvilHyperThingy. I enjoy a good tall tale as well as the next person. But when you say "This really happened" your story should be at least remotely possible. 8) |

I think that may be something peculiar to Edynn. Probably some kind of agent to make the norn say that when they are being attacked by another creature. |

I admit to knowing nothing about Edynn, so that's possible. About 99.9% unlikely, but possible. Hey, if it is, I'll have to start playing Edynn, lol. Norn language is my primary interest, and if they have a full command of the English language there, that's where I need to be. So...can anyone tell me what file in the Edynn folder enables this digital miracle? |

"99.9% unlikely"? There are many agents that make norns say odd things when they activate them. This sounds very similar to the HoloDoc cob in C2, which makes the norns state their condition every few minutes e.g. "I am _____". It has nothing to do with the ordinary norn vocabulary. |

That's a possibility too. There are a few DS agents that do that. Seems credible for a single statement, but when you add in "He spoke full english! He continued to to it until his death." (sic) then....ummm...I dunno... |

"I am being hit by <>" is caused by the Stop Slapping Creatures agents- the hitting norn says "I am hitting <>" at the same time, and the two are usually pushed apart. |

One of my Ds norns named flambit (he was a magma) met my inported grendle named glemy. Flamebit ran straight for the grendle, hit him in the head, then said: "Flambit eat Glemy". The grendle ran away to the center hub, and said: "glemy intensely scared". About an hour later, I was tending to my other norns when I saw that his hoverdock said he was dead, but I couldent find his corpse. Sitting in the same room was Flambit. He was not hungry.  Nine times have I been told im crazy and ten times I have accepted it. |

I have witnessed a norn apear to eat an egg. Again this was flambit. He has eaten a stinger too. I have no Idea how this happens, or why. he seems to have some file that ripped out when I exported him that melded into the game and makes prety muths any critter or creature edible. Luckily he was super friendly. hes dead now. Nine times have I been told im crazy and ten times I have accepted it. |

I should mention that, as far as I know, Edynn contains no such changes to actual norns. The only significant changes are to the world and the GUI. It still uses the same engine. This has been discussed many times in many places before- norns just really aren't that bright when it comes to talking. Complex sentences and questions are pretty much beyond their grasp. I have told this story many times. my harliquin (C3) said 'eat bab'. i said to harliquin 'what is bab?'. he turned into a happy face and was prancing around and looking at me saying 'right'. WOW! he was like, 52 generation! smart norns! Beware what remains hidden in the day. For it may harm the unwary. |

I had about a norn that ran up to anouther norn who was angrey, holding a seed. He dropped the seed in front of the unhappy norn. The unhappy norn ate it and was happy again. I though it was funny, becuse the unhappy norn after being happy, hit the norn that had given her the food and smilied! Nine times have I been told im crazy and ten times I have accepted it. |

One time my old norn Spottins said "Spottins look gadget!" over and over and over. It was super weird. I started slapping her when she started to "Eat gadget!" and not "eat food." Also, some of my norns have starved to death because they never learned to eat food, only "right food" "look food" and "retreat food." Only the Sith deal with absolutes. |

That would be an interesting thing, though- some CAOS added to create new maggot agents if cheese has been sitting for x amount of time. -Karias; a bit fruity and gone bananas in the wrong climate! |
