Probably extremely selfish for me to do this. I could use some feedback on creatures USB. I have asked before and gotten some. I realize I already have a topic for creatures USB, but the lack of positive or negative feedback had been quite surprising.
If anyone could take the time now to give me their thoughts I would love that. The goal was to create something the community on the whole would enjoy. Do you enjoy it? Have I made something useful?
I got like one or two positive comments in total. It almost felt like it was ignored mostly. I guess a pat on the head or being told I am a total idiot is what I am looking for. Ego stuff. Lol

Maybe it's just me, but I'm very confused about what version is the one to use. I know there was 1.2, and then a separate download for 1.3 linked to in the comments. But then there was an edit to say that the final release came out. Is that the download link? Just checking!
I actually don't have a use for this because I only play on one computer, though it sounds very convenient! If I could test it out, I'd love to give feedback. Alas: My laptop is a Mac that can't run the GOG.com games. Hopefully you get some feedback soon!

I haven't tried the Creatures USB suite yet for the same reason that Jessica mentioned, (thanks for clearing that up!) but I'm also not 100% sure about what it does. Please could you go into more detail? Is it any different to transferring Creatures games and addons onto an external hard drive without the update? Sorry if there's an obvious answer and I've missed it, I just couldn't gauge many details from its description. |

Aye. Everything is all done and final. Just unzip it, install the .exe, and follow the instructions included. I basically got nothing back for bugs and whatnot. What feedback I did get was positive. The discription is all edited, the link is current. Just give it a try. Sorry about your mac. I dunno if I can make a Mac release or not.
@ Laura: yes and no. You can run creatures off the USB. You can use it as a backup if you wish as well. Well I include the registry files, and creatures remastered does help. I don't think you need it with the gog.com version.
Basically if you want it run off the drive, just point the gog install to install on the drive. It is locked for that computer tho. You will need to insert that drive every time, and can no longer take it from computer to computer. It only affects C1 and C2. The upgrade allows for use of worlds on any computer with minor tweaking. At least 4 steps in needed ( assuming you have never before installed creatures on that PC. ) to take your creatures world from computer to computer. One world, multiple computers. If you wanna spruce it up on the description feel free.
Personally I love being able to do this with friends. I can load my own world, sick my USB in his computer. Export my creatures he likes, have him import my creatures on his USB. Allows me and him to swap creatures locally, I can show him cobs, and agents I found. He can do the same. Every time I load my USB and launch, my world loads. It is different then his. His world loads when he inserts his and launches. It looks for a specific letter for the USB. It loads whatever it finds.
That update simplifies the install, ( version 1.2 was a complete install, version 1.3 was a patch upgrade. You needed to have 1.2 installed in order to upgrade to 1.3. Update 1.4 is the update you get linked to when you hit download. ) removes steps in previous versions, and I added additional videos, ( some by Jessica from YouTube are included. I did the ripping and reformatting of the movies. All credit goes to you Jessica. ) as well as made a tribute movie that is hidden as well. I made other minor visual tweaks to the interface. Version 1.2 was a complete install. 1.3 was a patch. You needed both to get it working.
Edit: thank you for your feedback. I have edited the meta room description. Hopefully that makes it all clear now. Enjoy

Tomorrow, I'll have some time to play around with this & hopefully be able to give you some useful feedback. If I'm lucky, on Thursday one of my friends who also plays creatures might be coming over to visit & I might be able to get her to help test as well. |

Thanks. I guess now perhaps that I explained what it does that helps. Lol. I can be a nut sometimes.
