So I (finally) got Fraps and I (finally) got a microphone and I (finally) did a Let's Play of Creatures 3! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06SVG2SthyI It says Part 1 because I'm planning on continuing it. Let's hope it doesn't turn into one of those things that I say I'll do, start doing, and never finish! xD It's 53 minutes long, which is a bit (more than a bit) longer than I had intended. The other parts hopefully won't be quite as lengthy, but! If you have an hour to spare and nothing to do, you might wanna' give it a watch! It's my first Let's Play ever, so there's a bit of 'Um's and 'Uh's at the beginning... Thanks~! <3 Science is a beautiful gift to humanity; We should not distort it. |

I never bred grendels before myself. I'm afraid they'd just beat each other to death out of boredom. Your video is very interesting, I hope you keep it up! |

I had this banshee grendel in my new world who made it into a room full of feisty cfe norns, including a hardman... he learned to behave himself pretty quickly... but the poor guy was a punching bag sometimes, good thing they are pretty tough. Funny thing is, he'd bring extra abuse on himself... When he heard norns say they were angry, he'd very helpfully tell them to 'hit grendel'... even though I never saw him go near another grendel, he lived in the norn meso in the DS capillata and he was the only grendel there... and I'm pretty sure their instincts don't involve hitting each other particularly, and their reactions all involve just hitting norns, gadgets, or hitting things in general, (but mostly norns)... I guess he was just so used to being smacked when he saw an angry norn he knew that it helped them feel better to hit him... or maybe he learned it from hearing norns saying it... still odd he would recommend it, since I doubt that advice ever helped him. I would have expected him to suggest 'hit something' 'hit gadget' or 'hit norn' (maybe he didn't like 'hit norn' anymore, since he seemed to have learned that he would get his butt kicked if he tried to do that.) If there's no norns or ettins around to beat up, my jungle grendels tend to smack the everloving sith out of each other. Granted, norns usually don't behave much differently, but at least they don't kill each other quite as fast. Unmodified grendels might look somewhat cute, but are really unpleasant to have around, in my opinion. |

It's not really all that satisfying for them to hit other grendels, so when they get angry they will really hit whatever (or whoever) is around a lot to try and work off the anger, but as long as there are no norns around, they would rather hit gadgets, and it reduces boredom too... Their instincts even tell them so, they have pleasant dreams about having fun smashing gadgets and machinery. The calm balm that you get with the hardman pack may also help, they really like it. Hmm, i'd like to try my hand at making a simple cob that's like a toy for grendels... a little norn doll they can beat the crap out of... it will register as a gadget, so a typical grendel will be inclined to hit it instinctively, but hitting it will give them the same stims they get from hitting a norn, so they will learn to like hitting it a lot, and should prefer it over each other unless they are crowded. Back a little more on topic, Say, when's part 2? I can't wait to see if your grendels get it on! I bet they would if they could get to the norn room and have a little fun (well, fun for them, not so much for the norns...)
