After not playing Creatures for a looong time, I've decided to come back to it, but this time I'll be playing C3/DS.
To be honest, I've hardly played C3/DS (hence this topic) in all the years I've owned it, preferring to play C1 or C2 instead. So I'm asking all you experienced Ark and Capillata dwellers out there: what's the ideal/best setup for a C3/DS world, in terms of agents, breeds and metarooms (however, I shall of course be using the amazing Garden Box, that's a given!)?
I'd love to hear everyone's ideas; I really want to make my world enjoyable and not tire of it after half an hour. Thanks everyone! |

In regards to metarooms, I've never used many; but Chione is amazing. And if you're ever caught between the decision of C1 and C3/DS, there's C12DS!
As for breeds, I've only ever used the official ones. I've never tried any others, except to test some excellent Grendel breeds for my little sister.
*must go try new breeds and metarooms...*
Ah, agents. I find the Selective Force Field agent is a life saver, especially for keeping them out of the Jungle. I also recommend the Door Jammer, and the Grettin Switch, but that's only because I'm an over protective molly coddler.
Then there's the no-brainers, like the Umbilical Fix, Bramboo Fix, etc.
The Dummy Portal is great, especially if you have a lot of creatures or easily crowded creatures. Uhm... The Lemonade Vendor looks neat... The Injectable Pods (carrots, justanuts, etc.) are handy to have if you plan on using a lot of metarooms, though if you've got the Garden Box, you might not need them. And for your own peace of mind, that one agent that prevents creatures from using the Holistic Learning Machine over and over.
And of course, the Ice Cream Maker! ![[ngrin] [ngrin]](/images/smilies/emot_grin.gif)

Ghosthande's C3/DS Must Haves article is a good place to start. I've been enjoying the Terra:Reborn room lately. I think it's a good size and already has food and such, plus you can lock creatures in the top room if you want to separate them.
Otherwise I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. Actually I don't really enjoy using rooms like Chione or Biodome because I can't seem to get them set up properly.

I find something that really helps me is having an immobile toy (like the Rock Dolls in Liam's SDR Dolls) on the right-hand side of the DS meso heating pad - as well as toys in general. You might like the Rock Dolls because they're really cute (and you can collect all 10!). ![[ngrin] [ngrin]](/images/smilies/emot_grin.gif)

Ooh yes, I shall bear Ainarda in mind! Ghosthande's 'C3/DS Must Haves' article has also proved to be a Godsend so far, and thank you everyone again for your suggestions! Has anyone else got any metarooms, breeds or agents they'd like to recommend? |

If you're in need of a portable door (for use with rooms like Chione, etc.), try the Torii 1.15 - if you use the Torii changer to change it to appearing as a 'portal' to your norns, it will feel like a portal to them.
