Running a C1 feral run. I forgot that norns are naturally like any number of small mammals, in that if you leave the adolescent males alone for too long, they start showing a sophisticated interest in mum. So now I have a third generation norn whose mother is also his grandmother. :-/ At this rate, I'll end up with a norn who's his own grandpa! |

Ah, the joys of haploid genetics. One time, I had a Norn who liked to kiss-pop her daddy. Her baby was simultaneously her brother AND her son. ![[nblank] [nblank]](/images/smilies/emot_blank.gif)

Yeah, somewhere I'd missed the significance of haploid/diploid, so I guess inbreeding's less of an issue. About a million years ago (give or take a few) I remember that an American Christian chap created norns who actively wouldn't kisspop family members. I seem to remember they were quite difficult to breed, because the prohibition on siblings meant swapping different "families" into and out of the world. |

In case you're interested, I've been working on a new genome for Creatures 2 named the "Survivor Genome". One of the many new features is that Norns will become un-aroused when a parent, sibling or offspring is near.
You can read more about the genome on my blog. |
